It can be used as an opener for a first grade lesson. It is useful for all learners and you can go into depth after watching it for the students who need a hands on activity.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Kindergarten through 3rd grade, students beginning with learning phonological awareness and phonemic awareness because both deal with sounds. Being able to hear and identify a letter's sound is the key to being able to read. I specifically chose to focus on resources for phonemic awareness because this is where students begin to  blend individual sounds into a word. If the students don't catch onto this method during first grade it will be difficult to process their readings during the third grade.<br><br>Below is a link to the difference of phonological awareness and phonemic awareness.</div>]]></description>

For example, this book has a couple of "sh", "th" and "ng" words so we can have the students find any words that have those sounds and go over them at the end of the story.
