Malcolm X was a radical civil rights leader who fought for Black empowerment, justice and human rights. Originally a minister for the Nation of Islam, he promoted Black nationalism, self-defense, and racial pride. After leaving the NOl, he converted to Sunni Islam, embraced racial unity, and founded the Organization of Afro-American Unity. Famous for his fiery speeches like "The Ballot or the Bullet," he demanded equality "by any means necessary." He was assassinated in 1965, but his legacy lives on as a symbol of Black resistance and liberation.

Andrew Goodman (1943-1964) was a civil rights activist and a volunteer with the Freedom Summer campaign in Mississippi in 1964. He was one of three civil rights workers murdered by the Ku Klux Klan on June 21, 1964, along with James Chaney and Michael Schwerner. Their murders, while investigating the burning of a black church, galvanized the Civil Rights Movement and led to a national outrage.
