It would also take loads of stress off of young people all over the world. Students already do enough studying at home and don’t need to take test, we need to ban tests. Kahoots are also an alternative and let’s teachers see students progress while it is still fun for students.

I agree, we should leave tests until high school, because most younger people have to stress by studying for them, and they always get nervous when they’re doing a test. As a sixth grader, you may think that I’m perfect enough, but I’m still getting nervous about tests nowadays. Picture this - you’re having such a good day at school, then at twelve o’clock, you find out that you’re doing a test next week and you were asked to study for it. If you’re in kindergarten, you obviously don’t know how it works, you haven’t done one before, or maybe you don’t know how to. Other than that, primary school students are supposed to learn new things, tests only assess their abilities, and they could possibly make you feel disappointed if you get some questions wrong. That’s why I strongly suggest that tests in primary schools should be banned.

It is vital that the department of education removes tests from the Australian curriculum because of the effect it has on students mental health. Students already have too much in their agenda and tests add to that problematic amount. When students are informed on an upcoming tests, they will always get them stressed and force the students to prepare in their own time after school, invading their personal time. A child’s mind can’t cope with this amount of information and it is clear that we should leave tests until high school, when their minds are more developed. Because of the mental stress on students, test must be banned in primary schools
Daniel B😃

I think that tests should not be banned from schools. This is because it helps the teachers figure out what your strengths and weaknesses which is vital for your education so you don’t fall behind. I think we should have more tests and reduce homework quantities to even out for more tests. On average Primary school students spend around 6 hours a week on homework and by the end of the week you become lazy and get distracted easily. This is why I think tests should not be banned but added upon but also reduced homework I think is a great idea to even upon the tests

As you know, we all don’t like tests, the stress of staging for it may overwhelming. But really all test shouldn’t be banned. Why? Because this helps the teachers asses the child’s level and ability. As well, of a kid gets the questions wrong, they can learn from those mistakes and make sure that that kid can improve and be able learn more things by having the fundamental building blocks to make sure the general knowledge of that topic is there. This is why tests shouldn’t be banned.

I strongly believe test should definitely not be banned. Tests are essential to teachers and students alike. Tests help students who may be behind, and helps teachers to see who needs help and who doesn’t. If students get stressed about tests, we should do them less often. If students do not do well in tests, teachers can help them catch up to the rest of the class. Tests with grades are stressful, which is why tests should be graded less. The reasons stated above are why I believe tests should not be banned.

As they need to study and are worried about passing and feel they need to get perfect grades. When they have lessons with no tests children would actually learn more when there stress levels are lower and will be able to concentrate on all subjects so much easier. If children need help then they can ask as if they need help. It also takes stress of kids as they already have lots of homework. This also takes time out of time to communicate with friends to improve social skills. As there are some many more alternate ways to learn and help children get feedback from their teacher and their understand what they need help with. So in conclusion that is why they should be banned.

Tests, practically everyone hates them, but, they’re necessary, now what if we removed them? People might start slacking, children would have nothing to be proud of when passing. Good morning, today, as most of you know, my team and I will be arguing against the case that, tests should be banned, and I believe that after this argument you will stand by our side that tests will not be banned, I am the first speaker, James is the second and Ben the last, I will be introducing the ideas that, students might start slacking, that later in life, CEOs use them as a guideline in order to see if they are qualified for their job, and finally that children would have nothing to be proud of when passing a test.

But first the opposition has made some fatal mistakes,

Students would start slacking, if not challenged from time to time, students who don’t try their best would get worse jobs than they could have gotten had tests still been around, tests, tests help us stay on task, they would make students more at ease and strive faster and faster, since they were being challenged all the time.

My second point, CEOs use test and competition records to choose the right person for a job, but the one I want to focus on is tests, imagine if tests did not exist, ok, you grow up and get a job, but you haven’t focused in school, and thus received a C, you haven’t entered any competitions, you did poorly and slacked off, (relating to my first point) and your records kept dropping, now, tell me, be honest, do you think you could become a prime minister, DO YOU THINK you can be whatever you wanted if you got a C, no, you’ll probably be downgraded to a lowly janitor, and instead of sitting in parliament you’ll be mopping its floors, you’ll be thinking, should of listened to those poor four boys, they only wanted the best for the world, but if there were to be tests still,

Hmm who knows, maybe you’d be sitting in the big plush chair and making amazing speeches about politics, you might have been used to complex sentences and speaking in public, because your teacher pushed you, because, TESTS EXIST, tests helped you remember important facts and details.

Imagine if you got a 100 percent, imagine if you got an A, surely you would swell up with pride, surely you love that warm bubbly sensation, wait no, before you say that you could be proud when finishing homework, think again, a test is upgraded, harder, more questions and rarer, a test is something to be proud of a test is something to announce, not that you’ve completed a page of maths mentals, I would be prouder of getting a high score in something rare and something where your teachers don’t permit a peep, rather than finishing something I do every day, something where I can just get the answers off safari or the back of the book. You know we’re lucky that we even GET an education we’re lucky we get tests, so make use of them, don’t waste them. Think of the 34% of the world who don’t have an education, who don’t have tests! Think of the 27 million children around the world who remain unschooled. Whether you make a bonfire or use the tests, don’t waste the opportunity. This is why I believe that we must not ban tests. Perhaps we could let the schools decide?

And with that I bring my speech to a close, please vacate the stage for the second speaker of the affirmative team.
