11
When I was 16 I had a volunteer experience in Romania with an association. During the summer we went to Oradea, in the north-west of Romania for 10 days to carry out a summer camp for Romanian children. It was so exciting that I went back also the following year. I have wonderful memories about the group of guys I met there, which had different cultures. They were very very kind people, lovely children, and the harsh reality of the Romanian country. Poverty is widespread and their historical past is also troubled. During those days we had the activities with the children and we also went to visit the houses and the village in the countryside.
This experience put me in contact with different cultures and people with different life styles.
As a volunteer all the activities that were done were not paid but we were aware of the concrete help that we were giving the local children. This gave us a lot of satisfaction and joy.

12
Knowing people from other cultures is very interesting. You can see their lifestyles and their habits and customs in daily life. If there are occasions in which I can get in touch with people from different cultures, I immediately get involved.
I love to ask questions and to take part in their daily life in order to fully understand how they live in different counties and in what they are different from mine.

10

Talking to people is a common human process.
It's a very natural act that is underestimated by people. In fact we are often not give this process the right attention.
It requires a genuine and spontaneous style of interaction with people next to you. It changes from person to person to whom we talk to.
