The goals of reconstruction were very forced and forced very opposite sides of society almost right away. They want to include African Americans in society but white Americans not wanting them to be able to be on the same level as white Americans. Wanting to keep them below them. Law makers passing laws that are to help include African Americans in society, but white Americans making sure they wont be included finding loop holes.

After the civil war diseases were really big breakout in the black community. Them just being freed not knowing what to do for most of the diseases they are getting. As well as since they were not having liveable wages in the life most end up going back to their old slave owners. Working under a contract not having many other options.

After World War 1 and 2 most African American didn't get the same treatment and benefits white Americans did. Not even being paid for them being in the wars helping out and them usually having the most hard labor jobs in the wars but not getting the credit they deserve. After they started integrating into white societies they were brutally attacked, bombed, feathered, hosed down. So much going against them to get them to get out of what white people considered only their area.

During the 1950s-60s black Americans earned a significant amount less than white Americans did barely making a living out of the few jobs they were allowed to do. As well as the big civil rights movements they started finally fighting for what they deserved for the many years of abuse and brutality they went through for many years. During the 70s-80s laws were finally being passed for AA though white Americans didn't make it easy for AA's because though laws like Black men being able to vote was passed. White people made many small inconveniences to make it to where Black people couldnt vote putting small fees on voting polls and much more. To this day much discrimination is going on, most blatant racism being put on the back burner of things. As sundown towns, police brutality, and harm against black people for being born black still exists.
