Housing insecurity refers to instability in a personโ€™s living situation. It can include difficulty affording rent or mortgage, frequent moves, overcrowding, risk of eviction, or homelessness.





๐Ÿ”น Interpersonal Housing Insecurities



These are challenges that occur between people (social relationships, networks, and dynamics).

Examples:


  • Family conflict โ†’ Someone being kicked out or forced to leave home.

  • Roommate disputes โ†’ Conflicts leading to unsafe or unstable living arrangements.

  • Abuse or violence โ†’ Leaving a home because of domestic violence.

  • Social stigma โ†’ Discrimination in renting (race, gender identity, income source).

  • Lack of support networks โ†’ Not having friends/family to stay with when housing is lost.
