⭐ This is my most successful picture because I combined points-of-view (bird's eye and cantered). The extreme point-of-view helps to make the picture more dramatic by something ordinary in an interesting perspective. Further, the focal point of the photograph (the "STORM DRAIN" letters) are off-center to the upper-right of the image. This gives the image asymmetrical balance and adds tension in the image.

These leaves, despite their blights, captured my eye. They grew sticking out of the base of a tree, out of any place. By getting up really close, I show the withering on them clearly and in an interesting way. They fill the screen and the way the light bounces and scatters off of them becomes very apparent, and it creates a strong contrast with the muddy, greyish-browns of the bark behind it. I feel like this image could mean something, even if it wasn't my intention to give it any deeper ideas. You're close to nature, even if it's dying. Isn't that a little poetic?

I really like the way the branches look from the ground. It looks like its almost opening up and spreading its branches at the top like a flower opens up in spring. I also really love that you can see the trees pattern really well from this POV and i think it looks very beautiful.
