They get excited to share what was on the screen and I find that turning and talking works best to facilitate conversation. When it comes to the time routine it is slightly more challenging to get students to engage in discussion. I account for this by having students work in pairs and have recently been giving some pairs times written on pieces of paper to get them started in working with their partner.

Most of the time students are working with the same group of kids. However, I have never thought of have a mixed group with students of varying levels of understanding. In the future having groups of different levels of understanding is something I would want to utilize. I have seen strategies that students used during the focus lesson that I found helpful and have taught other students. They openly share their thoughts even if they are incorrect. they take risks.
