The governments of the resolution include the National assembly, Legislative assembly, The first republic and Directory. The National assembly was the representation based on population. The Legislative assembly was the government tried to keep the people and king happy. The first republic was the people and government. Lastly the Directory was an upper and lower house, the lower house made laws and the upper house accept or veto the laws made by the lower house. The government was a Directory until Napoleon came along. Napoleon was a military genius during his time. He graduated military school at the age of sixteen. Napoleon stages a coup de tat to overthrow the Directory government. The coup de tat succeeded. Napoleon then invades and attempts to colonize Egypt. Napoleon conquers Austria, Prussia, Portugal, and Spain. He puts his family in charge of the places he conquers. Napoleon attempts to unify Europe under France rule. So he uses the continental system to weaken Europe. Napoleon made a code called "Napoleon code" to make the authority of men over their families stronger. He also deprived women of any individual rights. All male citizens were granted equal rights under the law. Napoleon also brought back colonial slavery. All laws were applied to all territories and places in his control.
