A big problem adding to poverty is lack of access to clean water. The closest water source takes time to get to, sometimes taking the whole day. Sometimes the water they get is dirty, leading to sickness/ lack of health. The time taken to get water also takes away from education, and without water, there is less crops, leading to hunger.

Health is heavily impacted by water, more than half the world's hospital beds are with patients who are sick from water related diseases due to poor water conditions. Many worms and tiny bacteria live in water which usually aren't harmful, but when they are they affect humans extremely. Children specifically are more immune to getting the diseases because their immune systems experience everything for the first time. Supporting this they have few medical resources to even help them get out of poverty. Now that these illnesses are lingering around they are spreading and not getting cured.

Main points
-Tiny worms and bacteria live in water naturally. Most of the bacteria are pretty harmless. But some of them can cause devastating disease in humans. And since they can't be seen, they can't be avoided.
-Infants and young children are especially susceptible to diseases because their immune systems are experiencing everything for the first time. Even in developed countries, lots of moms boil water before giving it to their children - just to be doubly safe. In poor countries, the fuel for the fire can be so expensive that mothers can't afford to boil water and cook food.
