The main method used to control the Fire Tree is a form of herbicide. The government also requests removal from property by citizens if possible. Due to the fact that wild pigs and birds eat the Fire Tree seeds and spread its seeds, it can be difficult to control. A biological form of destroying/eradicating the tree has not been discovered yet, but some people have claimed that a two-spotted leaf hopper has helped to control fire tree populations.
