This board serves as a compilation of resources created by Dalan Fund and Women’s Fund in Georgia. We aim to:

• spread information about the Agent of Foreign Influence law in Georgia and its potential impact on human rights in Georgia, as well as in the region at large;

  
  

• mobilize and build solidarity among and with civil society, media, and people at large in Georgia, regionally and internationally;

  
  

• resist the Russian political agenda, and prepare and respond to the emerging crises due to the Russian influence on regional politics.

According to a letter seen by POLITICO, a dozen EU foreign affairs ministers on Friday urged the EU’s top diplomat, Josep Borrell, to “send an unequivocal message to Tbilisi that this legislation is incompatible with Georgia’s progress on its EU path” via an “oral update” on Georgia’s EU accession.

However, no such statement was made, with POLITICO’s Brussels Playbook reporting that Hungary, aided by Slovakia, obstructed an agreement.

In a long speech, he also strongly endorsed the conspiracy theory that presents the “global party of war” as a force poised to subdue Georgia’s identity and sovereignty and announced repressions against the opponents, “the collective United National Movement” that are to follow the victory in October 2024 elections.

The portal is meant for all CSOs, the people who run them, and all those interested in the civil society. Apartment associations are counselled and serviced by the Estonian Union of Co-operative Housing Associations.

As women, as queer and trans people, experiencing systemic oppression and marginalisation, our bodies are battlefields within our own countries and communities.

The Elisabeth-Selbert-Initiative has three programme lines and a Special Module:

• PL1: Four to six-month relocation grants for human rights defenders at risk at host organisations in Germany. 

• PL 2: Four to six-month relocation grants for human rights defenders at risk at safe places within their home countries or regions. 

• PL 3: On-site assistance funds for temporary local measures that increase the protection of human rights defenders at risk. The funding is awarded by the German missions abroad. Start in 2022,  2nd half of the year.

• PL 4: Special Module Afghanistan provides temporary support for human rights defenders from Afghanistan who have been granted admission under paragraph §22.2. of the Residence Act. Limited to 6 months.

The New Democracy Fund is launching a call for support to civil society actors based in Georgia.

Civil society actors, based in Georgia, can apply for activity as well as operational support through this call.

Civil society actors are broadly defined as democratically organised civil society organisations, social movements, media, academia, trade unions as well as community-based groups and organisations, including cultural, educational, and knowledge institutions. Civil Society Actors from all the Eastern Neighborhood Countries can apply as long as they are based in Georgia.

💸 Grant applications are accepted for a minimum of EURO 6,500 and a maximum of EURO 13,000.
