What is SDP?

SDP (Session Description Protocol) is a text-based format used to describe multimedia communication sessions for the purpose of session announcement, session invitation, and other forms of multimedia session initiation. It is not a transport protocol itself but a way to convey information about media streams, such as audio and video, between communication endpoints.
