         <description><![CDATA[<div>Multiple stakeholders shared conflicting viewpoints around  the  open enrollment programs  in both  Newark  and Camden:</div><div>o Parents shared a negative perception  of its impact on  neighborhood  schools, with the  majority  of concerns centered  around  increased difficulties with transportation,  and subsequent decline in extracurricular  activities at school.  <br>o Education leaders shared a positive perception  of how  the open  enrollment </div><div>programs  increased school choice and options for  families.<br><br>FROM DATA in Q1<br><strong>Increasing the Number of high quality seats that students have access to across the city</strong>- This was a policy decision to close certain schools, open new school models, and increase the number of charter seats.</div>]]></description>
