A lesson plan is written to ensure that the appropriate material is taught from grade to grade. It helps to create a level of organization that helps teachers that are teaching the same grade to remain even so all the students are at the same spot.

The reason why these plans are written can be bigger than just organization. The rhetor changes based on the type of school (public of private). Public schools may require teachers to turn in their lesson plans to review them to ensure all students remain even.

The audience will also depend on the type of school you're teaching at. If you need to turn it in for review then the person reviewing it will be apart of your audience. You as the teacher will be the main audience because that will be you daily guide. If you use a format that would be shown to the students then the students would be in the audience.

A constraint could be whether you show your students or just your supervisor who would review it. It could be a constraint because finding the format that works best can take time. If you want your class to be involved then you may want to find some kind of calendar format that would be visible.

Private schools may have a more lenient approach and they may let the teacher create lesson plays without reviewing them. In this case lesson plans for K-5 can be written out in whichever way works best for the teacher as well as the students.

If you choose to do the plans as a calendar, pictures aren't necessary for all grades. For example, complimentary pictures make it easy for kids learning to read to see the picture with the activity's name right beside it. For fifth graders this isn't as necessary.
Specific times can also be left out because some activities take longer or shorter amounts of time than planned sometimes.
