This base helps curriculum planners understand that children are not simply small adults and that human beings develop qualitatively differently at various ages. Recognizing this information enables curriculum planning to accommodate age - related and individual differences among learners.

Three Main Theories:

Piaget's Cognitive Development - focuses on how children's thinking evolves through distinct stages, influencing how they understand and interact with the world.

Erikson's Psychosocial Developmental - he emphasizes the impact of social experiences across eight stages of life, each with specific challenges and potential outcomes.

Kohlberg's Moral Development - who explores how moral reasoning develops through stages, highlighting the progression of ethical understanding from childhood to adulthood.

Curriculum Base Goal on Theories of Human Development

Address Individual Differences - Creating a flexible curriculum that recognizes and accommodates the diverse developmental needs of students is all about adjusting education to the distinctive characteristics and developmental stages of each student. Creating a curriculum that aids all learners requires an understanding of human development, which occurs in stages outlined by the theorists mentioned in the description. Given that development varies, a flexible curriculum must reflect these changes. Realizing this, allows for differentiation and personalization in learning and lesson planning.

Facilitate Progressive Learning Experiences - this curriculum aims to sequence activities in a way that builds on previous knowledge and aligns with developmental milestones, helping students transition smoothly from one stage to another. This approach requires designing a curriculum that not only takes learners developmental stages into account but also organizes learning activities so that each step naturally builds on the last. This makes sure that learning is one smooth flowing process.

Objective - To engage students in understanding how individuals grow and develop differently over time while promoting empathy, inclusivity and personalized learning.

Step 1 - Introduce the concept of human development and explain how everyone grows.

Step 2 - Have students write or draw one thing they can do now that they couldn't do before. They'll share their responses and discuss their feelings when reaching milestones, highlighting the differences of individual growth.

Step 3 - Create a collaborative poster with sections for different developmental stages.
