I would like to report on a research project conducted at experimenta, where we evaluated visitors’ reading behavior in a science exhibition. As part of the study, we developed a set of metrics to systematically describe reading patterns. This replicable framework enables reliable cross-study comparisons and may open up new possibilities for understanding visitor engagement with written content in informal learning environments.

I would like to propose a session focused on how science centres and museums can leverage digital marketing and social media for both B2C and B2B communication.

The session could explore two complementary perspectives:

• B2C: how social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) can be used to engage wider audiences, strengthen visibility, and create impactful campaigns.

• B2B: how to address professionals, partners and stakeholders through digital tools — for example, promoting touring exhibitions, services, and expertise dedicated to professional networks.

Through case studies and shared experiences, the session would provide insights and practical strategies on how institutions can build effective communication across both audiences.

Session on team engagement - World Cafe format.

This session would explore the concept of staff (employees, volunteers etc.) engagement – what it really means, how it can be measured, and why it is essential for organizational success. We would look at practical strategies for building engagement, share examples from different institutions, and reflect on how engaged teams contribute to delivering meaningful visitor experiences.

Deep dive workshop - Employee journey in our organizations

During this deep dive workshop we will focus on exploring the full employee journey – from recruitment and onboarding to development and offboarding. This would be a workshop where participants could share and reflect on their own practices, WOW moments, and pain points that their employees experience in their organizations. How can we accompany the employee on the journey through our institution? What can we change to make the journey better? Why employee experience is important for our business (fulfilling our mission, achieving goals)?

I would like to present on the use of icebreakers to initiate contact with potential interview partners in the context of research and evaluation. Specifically, I plan to introduce a set of emojis we have been using for this purpose and share insights into how they can facilitate communication and build rapport.

We would like to present the ‘My First Conference’ format, which is aimed at schoolchildren aged 6 and above, i.e. non-readers in France. But recently, we have also been targeting families. We are currently developing the project to appeal to teenagers as well. All this with an original interactive approach.

How to navigate between the classic vertical scientist talk and originals formats ? Is the classic format really obsolete and old-fashioned or has it still got his use ? How to find the right balance in a world were trust in science is flickering ?
We were thinking about organizing a debate with a series of
agree/disagree statements on the subject.
We would love to connect with colleagues organising conferences or similar sessions in their sciences center.
