Misconceptions about what to eat, when to eat, and what supplements to take can hinder progress. Accurate information about nutrition, tailored to one's fitness goals, can make a substantial difference in results and overall health.

Physical exercise has a profound impact on mental well-being, including reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Misconceptions about the gym can discourage individuals from taking up regular exercise, depriving them of these mental health benefits. Clearing up these misunderstandings can motivate people to engage in fitness routines that promote their emotional and psychological well-being.

Gym memberships and fitness classes can be expensive. If individuals have misconceptions about what they can achieve at the gym, they may be wasting their money on programs, services, or products that do not align with their goals. Knowing the truth can help individuals make informed decisions about where and how to invest in their fitness journey.

Many people start and stop fitness routines due to misconceptions and unrealistic expectations. The truth about the gym includes the understanding that fitness is a long-term commitment, and results often take time to manifest. By knowing the realities of fitness, individuals can approach their goals with patience and perseverance.

Social and Peer Pressure: Misconceptions about the gym can lead to peer pressure and unrealistic expectations. Friends, family, or social media can create pressure to conform to certain fitness ideals or trends. Knowing the truth allows individuals to make informed choices and resist negative peer influences that may not align with their genuine fitness needs.

In conclusion, knowing the truth about the gym is essential for effective goal achievement, injury prevention, efficient time and energy use, proper nutrition, mental well-being, economic considerations, long-term commitment, and resisting social and peer pressure. Clearing up misconceptions and embracing accurate information can lead to a healthier, more informed, and ultimately more successful fitness journey.

My question for this topic, is how do nursing students deal with grueling lectures? Nursing students are required to take courses such as Human Anatomy, or Chemistry in order to work their way towards becoming a nurse. There is no doubt that these classes are difficult as it is, nevertheless long and tiring. Not to mention the fact that these lectures and exams don't always include visuals, it is difficult for people like me who need visual representation. These courses, such as human anatomy, don’t always offer visuals. One study has found that after three days, a student/ user only retained about 10-20% of information with no visuals, and almost 65% of the information that includes visuals. There is a huge difference between the numbers, and it is clear how beneficial visuals can be within our studying time. Studying the human body with words is an extreme challenge when you can’t locate the specific region the lecture is talking about. Something beneficial I have and would love to share with upcoming nursing students or any who are struggling would be that it is important to take notes, jot down anything you can while the professor is talking, then later take the time to understand it for yourself. I find myself, sometimes multiple times a day, sitting in the library while reviewing my notes and looking at pictures on the internet to remember which region is where.

Another issue that I have discovered, is the amount of sleep students acquire due to these classes. While some classes are only 50 minutes long, these long classes can be an hour and 15 minutes. Each Bio and Chem class you take also requires you to take the lab that belongs to it as well. These labs range from about 2-3 hours, and can be very time consuming. The amount of exhaustion nursing students face is no exaggeration. My classmates and I spend our nights dissecting a cadaver (human body), studying the anatomy of it, studying what makes a human a human. As much as I love nursing and the passion I have for it, I can easily say and defend the amount of exhaustion I have gained while becoming a student in these classes. My labs are late at night so I often find myself spending my mornings catching up on homework, going to class, then attending a 3 hour long lab, along with my SI meetings to wrap up my night. I'm also involved in a club for volleyball, so anybody with outside activities learns to balance classwork, along with their own social lives as well. This doesn't include the time that goes into studying as well. These courses require hours of sitting down, reviewing the information given, memorizing it and making sure you understand it. As I've spoken with others, we have all agreed that we feel as if we have no time to just stop and take a breath. The work keeps constantly coming, and interrupts the sleep needed for our body's to function. These long lectures and labs, along with the work attached, affect us nursing students in multiple ways.

Struggles nursing students have with clinical trials and time management throughout school?

Time management is a critical skill for nursing students as they juggle coursework, exams, and clinical trials, all while trying to maintain some semblance of a personal life. Nursing programs are demanding, and the challenges of time management in combination with clinical trials can be particularly grueling. In this article, we will explore the struggles nursing students face in managing their time effectively during their clinical rotations and offer strategies to overcome these challenges.

Clinical trials are the heart of nursing education, providing students with hands-on experience in real healthcare settings. However, these trials come with their own set of challenges, often compounded by the need to effectively manage time. Here are some common struggles nursing students encounter when it comes to time management during clinical trials. Clinical trials do not follow a typical 9-to-5 schedule. Students may have early morning shifts one day and evening shifts the next. This irregularity can disrupt their daily routines and make it challenging to plan study time or personal activities. Nursing students are not only required to excel during clinical trials but also need to stay on top of their coursework. The struggle to balance practical experience with academic responsibilities can be overwhelming. Clinical trials can be physically and mentally draining. After a long day at the hospital, students may not have the energy to focus on their studies or attend to other responsibilities. Nursing students often have to commute to their clinical sites, which eats into their daily schedule. The time spent traveling can be used more productively but is often lost. Clinical trials often involve working directly with patients, which can be emotionally taxing and time-consuming. Dealing with patients' needs and responsibilities can leave little time for other tasks. Trying to manage time effectively while excelling in clinical trials and coursework can lead to burnout if not handled carefully. This can be prevented by having a schedule and staying on task. The demands of nursing school can lead to procrastination and distraction, further compounding time management issues for many students.

In conclusion, the intricate dance of managing time amidst the demanding clinical trials is an omnipresent challenge faced by nursing students. However, this challenge is not insurmountable. With deliberate planning, unwavering adaptability, and an arsenal of self-discipline, nursing students can navigate the labyrinth of clinical rotations with dexterity. The keys to success lie in a combination of strategic time allocation and holistic self-care.

The paramount importance of prioritizing self-care cannot be emphasized enough. Nursing students are often drawn into the whirlwind of clinical trials, study obligations, and a quest for perfection, often at the expense of their own well-being. This can lead to fatigue, stress, and burnout, ultimately hindering academic and clinical performance. To counter this, it is essential for students to make self-care a non-negotiable cornerstone of their routine. Adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and mindfulness practices are invaluable allies in maintaining physical and mental well-being. Equally crucial is the act of seeking support and guidance from both mentors and peers. Instructors and clinical preceptors are fountains of knowledge and experience, ready and willing to offer assistance. They can provide insights, clarification, and advice, smoothing the path for students facing time management challenges. Additionally, peer camaraderie is a wellspring of mutual understanding and creative problem-solving. Collaboration with fellow students can yield innovative strategies for managing time and sharing the emotional load that clinical trials may bring.

How is social media affecting marketing today?

Social media has evolved marketing in many different ways today. Marketing has definitely become a lot easier today than 15 years ago, when they used newspapers, radio, TV ads, etc. The marketing today allows the advertisement to be spread much more quickly and much further than the traditional means of marketing before. You can connect with your audience and extend the customer base with way more statistics. There are also so many careers and jobs that social media has produced with it coming into the marketing space, they even have their own name of a new career which is titled “social media marketing.” This has definitely opened the door to influencers and people really involved with building a persona online and connecting with others. It has enhanced brand awareness, as businesses get the opportunity to contact a whole range of prospective customers, even those outside their immediate geographic region, thanks to the billions of active users across several platforms. However, with the marketing space evolving so quickly, with a business putting their brand on social media, it can make them a target of canceled culture. Social media has changed the workforce, it is so much easier to promote products and gain trust from customers, but negative feedback becomes public knowledge on any social media. Nobody really looks into Yelp reviews or reviews on a website very much, or don't take it too much into account. But if someone posts a bad comment or negative review, it can spread way more rapidly. But if someone posts a good comment or explains how the service/product from this company helped them, it can gain so many consumers. It really depends on how strong this business’s motive is and the hustle of keeping a good reputation, as it is very much on the line. There can also be lots of privacy/public related issues to social media marketing, when using these platforms for promoting or advertising, you need to be able to surrender your information publicly and personally. Like we discussed before, technology is developing and changing so fast it can be very good for businesses. But because of how much it has evolved, it is way easier to hack and find out information about a business or a worker of the business that can cause controversy and lead to the downfall of that company. If you seem as you do not take the time to engage with your consumers or focusing on sales too much, it can make you unaware of the trends that are happening and makes you tone deaf to your audience.

Monopolistic companies taking over small businesses is a topic of great concern in the business industry. A monopolistic company is one that dominates and controls the market for a specific good or service. This company normally does not have high competition and usually rules the market. Most people rely on these monopolies, making them buy from the company or go without the product or service. These companies can limit consumer choices and control production. Small businesses on the other hand, have faced a dramatic decline. Small businesses are not dominant in its field. The question of whether large companies should be able to take over small businesses sparks a debate between those who value market efficiency and innovation and those concerned about monopolistic practices, economic diversity, and local business sustainability. I will argue that although balance is very important, there are significant negative aspects associated with monopolistic companies dominating the market and taking over small businesses. Weighing the advantages of corporate growth against the potential drawbacks of reduced competition. I will talk about how Covid affected small businesses, making people rely on larger companies. These companies thrived and grew rapidly while small businesses experienced what seemed like an apocalypse.

What are the effects against AI in the hospitality industry?

For this question, I will be sharing different reasons why AI is no good for the hospitality industry. In my personal opinion, I agree that AI needs to be brought down for many reasons. Reasons being, lack of human interaction, technological limitations, and high cost. If there is a technical issue occurring this will make people frustrated, being they are not getting service they are expecting right away. If for some reason the robots are down one day, this can make the business lose a lot of money. This is because there will be no workers for them. What is the need to be spending all this money on robots when we could be paying humans to do the same techniques. Humans are more reliable. Being that technology has taken over the majority of our world today, I don't think adding it to restaurants or hotels is necessary. The biggest problem people have with AI entering the industry is a decrease in human interaction.

Hotels and restaurants are often places where people seek genuine interactions and personalized service. AI might not be able to handle complex and unpredictable situations that can arise in the industry. It's all about finding the right balance between technology and human interaction to create the best experience for guests. AI may not be able to handle unique guest requests or handle complaints some people may have. Striking the right balance between human interaction and robots is important to ensure a positive guest experience. It's about finding ways to leverage AI to enhance efficiency while still preserving the human touch. Many people will be stressed or upset over losing their jobs or not being able to find a job in the industry. A lot of people have a passion for hospitality and letting robots take over will make it hard for a lot of people as far as job opportunities. All of these points should make it clear to people that robots are not going to progress the industry, it's going to make it worse. Sociability will lack within people and if we think technology took over already it will really start to takeover and show.

How has the war in Ukraine emphasized the need for the United States to diversify its energy sources and reduce its dependency on Russian energy exports?

The war on Ukraine has put an important emphasis on the need for the United States to diversify its energy sources for many different reasons. Some of the reasons include geopolitical instability, energy security, environmental concerns, and technological advancements. These are just some of the many reasons why the United States should diversify its energy sources. Starting off with the first point, the war has shown the United States that one of the reasons to diversify its energy sources is because of the geopolitical instability. Russia has a history of using its energy exports as a political tool, sometimes cutting off or reducing supplies to exert pressure on neighboring countries. If we diversify from Russia, we don't have un much dependence on their oil which puts less pressure on our energy supply when we are in political conflict with them. Next the United States should diversify their energy sources from Russia because of energy security. Diversifying energy sources helps enhance national security by reducing vulnerability to supply disruptions. Relying heavily on one source or supplier makes a country more susceptible to geopolitical tensions and conflicts. Another reason for the United States to diversify its energy sources away from Russia oil that is not related to geopolitics is because of environmental concerns. Burning oil is one of the leading causes of global warming and many other negative environmental effects. Burning oil causes an increase in global warming, where fossil fuels are burned and emit Carbon Dioxide into the air trapping heat in the atmosphere, causing climate change. Drilling for oil also leads to ocean acidification and also causes many fatal accidents around the heavy machinery. The final reason the United States should diversify from Russian exports of energy is because of technological advancements. Investing in a diverse energy portfolio encourages innovation and development in various energy sectors. This can lead to technological advancements, job creation, and economic growth.

Since the war in Ukraine has been going on for several years now, the United States has taken several steps to address these concerns and problems. The first thing the United States did to address these concerns was promoting renewable energy. Although renewable energy is usually more costly than nonrenewable energy, such as the energy that the United States receives from Russian exports, increasing investment in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power can help reduce reliance on fossil fuels and imports. Another step that the United States has taken to diversify their energy profile is expanding natural gas production. The U.S. has seen a significant increase in natural gas production, which has helped reduce reliance on imported energy. The United States has also taken a close look at energy efficiency within the country. Improving energy efficiency across various sectors, including transportation and industry, can help reduce overall energy consumption and reliance on imports. The war on Ukraine against Russia has emphasized for the United States to diversify their energy portfolio to ease political tension, improve the environment, and create new jobs.

How Ethical is Artificial Intelligence in Radiology?

Overall, the medical field has constant debates about what is ethical within the field, but most notably is the use of AI. There has been in increasing demand for healthcare, whether it regards patients, workers, or even materials. This has developed the use for artificial intelligence to aid in the increasing demand. AI used in medicine can help diagnosis, aid with patients, keep track or order supplies, and many other tools. While AI is used now throughout the medical field, it has notably helped the radiological department. Radiology plays a major role within the medical field and it requires a lot of technology to effectively diagnose or treat patients. AI is a growing tool for all fields and a major benefit to the medical field. Currently, there are no defined legal or ethical regulations regarding the use of artificial intelligence within the medical field.

However, patients have expressed concerns. Patients have expressed concerns regarding artificial intelligence about privacy, discrimination, and physiological issues surrounding human judgment. These concerns are based on growing technological issues resulting from inaccuracies and data breaches which can lead to accidental damage to patients. For example, AI in the CADe systems. CADe is known as Computer-Aided Detection, which was AI developed to help radiologists view subtle areas in an image that would have been missed if just using the human eye. Current CADe systems however have a large false-positive turnover and this impacts the radiologist assessments. This system is also limited in what it can highlight to the radiologist as it only is programmed for limited and specified diseases. CADe has lots of room for improvement and can become a major tool for radiologists in the future. However, until then patients and radiologists should not have to worry about the false-positive images. This is where a major debate comes into play regarding whether AI is truly ethical to be tested on patients.

The rise of artificial intelligence to create artworks is undermining the creativity and rights of real artists. “AI art” refers to the creation of digital artworks with the assistance of artificial intelligence; there are many different AI programs that can be used to do this, but they all largely work the same. These AI are fed with numerous artworks from real artists, which forms and improves upon their ability to recreate such art. There is a latent issue with copyright here, as many artists do not consent to having their art taken and used by AI. Even going past visual arts, AI is used in other creative art forms such as writing. Many are familiar with ChatGPT, a writing AI that can easily form detailed writings on a given topic. Aside from the inherent plagiarism, AI takes away the purpose of real people and creators. AI art has been used by numerous companies to replace the jobs of real artists, and as the technology continues to improve, this trend will not soon see its end. Even disregarding the moral and ethical issues to the usage of AI art, it is debatable whether it qualifies as “art” in the first place. Some argue that “art” as a concept hitches on having emotion and humanity underlying it, and that AI of course lacks any such qualifying emotion. It is still possible, despite all the existing issues, that AI can be used as a tool to assist real artists. I think that this is a goal of sorts to strive towards–an existence in which AI can be used not to replace artists, but to assist them, if at all possible.

Why is there so much stress that comes along with nursing school?

Juggling the new climate that is college is already complicated for so many students. Now imagine going through the transition period, and being thrust into classes that will bury even the most intelligent of us deep in workload. This is what it is like for nursing students, and it doesn’t stop with the adjustment into freshman year. The work just keeps getting harder. Each year is faced with its own struggles. Going from hour long lectures, then being tested on the knowledge, you tried your best to obtain, in clinicals. How does all the time spent studying affect the students mental and emotional health? How many students have to watch as their friends and roommates go out partying, or attending the latest sporting event while they are forced to study for the exam they have the next day that covers 9 chapters worth of work. After the student gets through the lectures and in class learning they are then put into clinnicals where all of their knowledge they have acquired is put to the test. Even once a nursing student graduates, and thinks they are out of the difficulties they find out the career they have chosen to pursue is just as stressful.

I also want to debate if the most of the stress put on individual students is more internal or external. Is the stress coming from professors, advisors, and parents or is the stress coming from the students wanting to do their best in school because when they graduate they know lifes will be in their hands? Could some of the stress that is put on nursing students be removed based on the individual students' need for sucess? To answer this it could. Some students have to work harder than others to reach the same degrees of success which also make the argument a little difficult because each persons experience is different and what may be something of great stress for one might not be on the radar of another. Another question I would like to answer is, if a student's studys less and still receive passing grades but now to have some work-life balance is that okay or will it hurt their career in the future. This is compelling to a lot of the students because the saying “C’s get degrees” is fortunately accurate in college. The problem is the cost of not knowing all of the information for a nursing student is unmatched to any other degree. If an economics major misses a theory no one’s life is in danger because of it. Another issue for not learning all the information, is that many of the classes build upon each other. If you don’t understand one of the body systems fully how will you understand whatever ailments you might face in that region.

Health Care In the United States- Mia Tedford

United States health care contains morals, social, and political significance. But as the rising number of uninsured and underinsured are taken away from medical services or charged more for medical services and die because they cannot receive or cannot afford care, this affects the growing movement of our healthcare system in the United States. In what ways could the United States stop this action and improve health care so citizens of the United States can be taken care of? Questions like what type of health care system is best fitting for our country or should every citizen be able to use health care. With more than 46 million people without health care, the cost of health services and goods continue to rise, and the selling of sickness and managed care organization has become profit-oriented (Rossi 7). As health care is being affected the poor doctor-patient ratio has gone significantly down after Covid-19 hit the earth. As these minimal funds were spent on pre-natal and first five-year care it made people declare bankruptcy due to health-related debt. As this system is not working there needs to be another way we can address these current failures. The Social Transformation of American Medicine addresses the economic obstacles, the emergence of different market types, the professional and market autonomy issues, and effectiveness of the health care. Paul Starr the author of the book addresses almost all issues related to the formation maintenance and practice of health care since the beginning of American History. As the economy increases in inflation citizens have a harder paying the prices of the hospital bills. As of COVID-19, shutting down people's jobs it makes it harder for them to get the proper health care that all citizens deserve. Healthcare has become a political medical focal point, and the financial impact that healthcare has on the individual has made issues alarming. The United States markets don't do a good enough job of providing medical insurance to the citizens. The cost of health services and goods continues to rise. "Sickness" has become a major issue that the healthcare industry sells. The system can be described by Daniel Beauchamp as market-based or capitalist. He also describes market-based systems as those that focus on "individual responsibility with minimal collective action and freedom from collective obligations"(Beauchamp). Saying that this system encourages individuals to care for their own health needs. If hospitals centralize healthcare there it will become easier to allocate resources to underserved communities, addressing health disparities and ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality care, regardless of their income or location. Hospitals can provide a standardized level of care, ensuring that everyone receives consistent and evidence-based treatments. This can help maintain healthcare quality and safety standards. However, relying solely on hospitals to care for all health needs might overburden the healthcare system, leading to longer wait times, reduced quality of care, and higher healthcare costs in the long run.

AI is a great marketing tool and should be use more in business. Caron Davis

The rapid emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the business realm has led to varied perceptions. While some view AI as a revolutionary tool set to improve operational efficiencies, others fear its potential to replace human jobs and undermine creativity. This paper aims to counter some of these prevailing narratives and shed light on the constructive role of AI in the world of business. My first argument will be about a common misconception that the introduction of AI in workplaces might breed complacency. Making individuals more dependent on machines and lessening their creative impulses. In contrast, AI can handle repetitive and mundane tasks, freeing humans to engage in more complex, creative, and strategic activities. Rather than stifling creativity, AI allows employees to focus on innovative tasks and brainstorming, fostering an environment where creativity thrives. The second argument is that the pros outweigh the cons. Often, the discourse surrounding AI is dominated by its potential pitfalls. Concerns range from job losses to data privacy issues. However, this view doesn't consider the vast benefits AI brings, including efficient data analysis, predictive insights, cost savings, and enhanced customer experiences. By streamlining processes and providing deeper insights, AI empowers businesses to make informed decisions and tailor their services more effectively. The last thing I want to talk about is how it should be used and why the way it is used is not benefiting enough. I do think that the reason why some people have bad arguments about AI is due to how they think it is so I will try to go into detail as much as possible. How AI can be used in marketing and how it is a great tool. In conclusion, while it's essential to address concerns about AI's impact on the job market and individual creativity, it's equally crucial to acknowledge its vast potential in enhancing business operations. By striking a balance between human ingenuity and machine efficiency, we can chart a future where both coexist and thrive. I will have to put in a lot of examples and think that it would be a trough paper but easy to finish.

Unlike the intelligence of humans or animals, artificial intelligence is the intelligence possessed by robots or some sort of software. The term "AI" may also apply to the actual devices. Automating repetitive and routine operations like data entry, customer support, and logistics is possible with artificial intelligence. Employees can focus on more difficult and important jobs by doing this, which can also save time and decrease errors. Because AI technologies are more efficient than humans at routine and repetitive work, occupations in a variety of industries are going to be automated . Particularly at risk are those involving basic analysis, customer service, and data input. They are not the only ones with their jobs in danger with AI. Artistic jobs are now being taken over by Ai as well. I was curious to know if ai was being used in the fashion industry because it seems to be being used everywhere as to date. There are many pros and cons when it comes to Ai in the fashion industry. One of the pros is it is a useful partner in design, assessing styles, hues, and materials to provide design recommendations intended to appeal to a broad clientele. Lastly it would help with sustainability because there have been numerous sustainability issues in the fashion industry. By streamlining their production and supply chains, artificial intelligence (AI) can assist fashion brands in being more environmentally friendly. Artificial Intelligence can pinpoint areas for waste reduction and energy efficiency enhancement by evaluating data. Those positives are very good for the industry but The negatives may outway the positives due to the state of the world today.
The Number One problem is AI is automating tasks in the fashion business, which may result in employment displacement. Fashion companies need to plan for this scenario and create strategies for retraining and rehiring displaced employees. Another problem is Data Privacy. Fashion companies get a lot of personal data from their clients, including past purchases, web surfing patterns, and social media usage. Although this data is useful for AI applications, there are privacy concerns. AI's ability to homogenize fashion presents another difficulty. There's a chance that fashion will become less unique and inventive as AI algorithms take over design and marketing choices. This might cause the quality of fashion goods to diminish as well as the industry's general level of popularity. Naturally, I'm interested in this because I hope to work in the sector eventually. The idea that AI, rather than rivals who are more experienced than you, will be your competition can be unsettling. Because there will be fewer mistakes made by AI, AI will ultimately prevail. So, the question is: Can we as a society attempt to reduce the places and amounts at which artificial intelligence is used? Once more, there are positives throughout the world, but how can they be positive if everyone is unemployed and creativity is extinct?

How does childhood trauma affect people as they become adults?

The lingering effects of childhood trauma can have a profound and lasting impact on adults, deeply affecting their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Often, the scars left by traumatic events in early life can resurface in adulthood, resulting in a range of mental health conditions. Those who have experienced childhood trauma are particularly vulnerable to conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other complex disorders related to trauma. These disorders can cause persistent feelings of fear, mistrust, and emotional turmoil, making it challenging for affected adults to form secure and healthy relationships. In many cases, adults who have experienced childhood trauma may also struggle with creating and maintaining strong connections with others.

As you can see, the effects of childhood trauma go further than just mental health. Research has revealed that individuals with a history of early trauma may face an elevated risk of developing physical health concerns in their adult years. The prolonged stress caused by these traumatic experiences can disrupt normal bodily functions, leading to inflammation and imbalanced hormones. As a result, a range of health problems can arise, including heart disease, autoimmune disorders, and a weakened immune system. Additionally, those who have suffered from childhood trauma may struggle with regulating their emotions, making it challenging to effectively manage stress, navigate daily challenges, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Altogether, the impact of childhood trauma can have lasting effects on one's mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Why should Shakespeare continue to be taught

Why Should secondary education continue to incorporate Shakespeare into their curricula? The works of William Shakespeare have long been a staple of the America’s system of secondary education, and this for good reason; through his plays and his poems, Shakespeare was able to shed light on key facets of the human condition by working with and exploring themes such as: love, hate, envy, mortality, free will, destiny, power, as well as several others. The efficacity of his renditions is such that they continue to resonate with audiences today, despite their particular ornamentation being that of centuries past. The framework they employ, that of human subjectivity, is, as Ben Johnson, a contemporary and fellow playwright of Shakespeare, said in reference to him and his work, “not of an age but for all time.” This being said, the refutation of Shakespeare’s relevance is often aimed at those aspects of his oeuvre that, do belong to an age, his age. These claims are valid, there are acts of misogyny, racism, classism, and antisemitism that are performed by the characters of his plays, but what this claim misses is that these stories, being as multi-layered and complex as they are, are not reducible to any one reading that would promote these gestures to the exclusion of all other interpretations. The adaptation is to be taken up on the side of the instructor as well as the reader, not the work at hand. For example, in Romeo and Juliet, one of his most popular plays, and the one that is almost always taught in American high school, can be read and analyzed to examine and highlight themes of misogyny, toxic masculinity as well as gendered violence.

Psychology is the study of how the mind and body behaves and why it behaves that way. The integration of religion within psychology has provided more positive results towards the treatment of various psychological conditions across different groups of people. As Behere observes, “From a mental health perspective, religion offers essential guidelines that assist individuals in crafting a path for their lives" (Behere, 2019). The incorporation of religion into psychological treatments often produce a deeper understanding of an individual’s culture, spiritual, and ethical values. Religion in psychology can provide a sense of purpose, meaning, and hope for individuals undergoing psychological distress. It can aid in coping strategies, resilience building, and finding solace. This approach to treatment empowers individuals to navigate life. If an individual joins a community and goes to a place of worship (i.e. Church, Temple, Synagogue) this can foster a sense of community and belonging. All in all, providing the option of following a religious path to possibly better-help psychological distress will enrich the field of psychology.

How has the introduction of AI benefited the hospitality industry?

My argument is based on the positive effects that the introduction of artificial intelligence technology has brought into the economic and professional aspects of the hospitality industry. The hospitality industry focuses on many different aspects of service, most well known industries include hotels, event planning, tourism, as well as food and beverage operations. In the hospitality industry, the advancement of technology is leading to a new age of service, creating a simpler, more efficient way to operate and manage the service industry. The advancement of technology has led to an increase in revenue, guest satisfaction and management effectiveness.

The introduction of artificial intelligence in hotel management has vastly improved guest purchasing and check-in services in hotels and other lodging facilities. Purchasing a room and checking in used to be a long, time-consuming process that would often result in holding other guests up as well leading to a decrease in room revenue, and often resulting in booking cancellations. According to an article posted in Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Michael D. Olsen and Daniel J. Connolly share that, "In many hotels, high-tech services are demanded and indeed expected by sophisticated customers. It is thus a requirement for hotel managers to take advantage of IT and integrate it to provide new and varied services into their business operations." With the introduction of artificial intelligence and the advancement of technology, hotels and other lodging facilities can now give their guests the opportunity to pay for rooms in advance using their mobile devices, making the process less time consuming and a lot simpler. Similarly, hotels have now begun to offer the option to check in on a mobile device as well, usually through an app or website specifically correlated to and run by the hotel.

In the restaurant industry, the introduction of artificial intelligence and an advancement in technology has led to an increase in service efficiency and consumer satisfaction. For example the introduction of touch screen technology has led to innovative creations such as touch screen ordering systems like the ones recently introduced in McDonald's and touch screen drink service like those found at Wendy’s. The introduction of touch screen technology has led to quicker service, which brings more people in. It appeals to consumers looking who may be in a rush. To further appeal to those consumers who are just looking for quick service, the introduction of online ordering systems otherwise known as mobile ordering, has made it easier for people to just order from wherever they are and have their order picked up at a time that is convenient for the consumer. Restaurants have now also paired with applications such as doordash and uber eats to make ordering and delivering food more accessible as well. As a result of the pandemic, many food service facilities resorted to the use of QR menus to reduce the potential spread of germs, a subsequent result of this has been a reduction of paper usage by utilizing a resource most people usually have on them, their phones.

Should ABA Therapy Considered Abuse?

Often in Special Education, an array of disabilities is seen. Teachers must learn how to teach their students, often while coping with their behaviors. For individuals with autism spectrum disorder, there is a type of therapy that is meant to help individuals to cope with their disability. However, this therapy often crosses the line into abuse, and results in more intense behaviors from these individuals, though it has potential to help them instead. In this paper, I hope to address the question of is ABA therapy is abusive by understanding what ASD, or autism spectrum disorder is, what ABA therapy is, how individuals with ASD feel, and my point of view, as an outsider. Autism can then be broken down into categories of, “functioning,” based on how an individual can interact with their surroundings. Their diagnoses can be categorized into three levels depending on the severity of their disabilities, with level one being mild, and level three being severe. As a result of this spectrum, the symptoms of ASD, as it is often abbreviated as, as extremely broad, and can range between trouble maintaining eye contact, to self-injurious behavior. Psychologists often suggest to parents to enroll their children in ABA therapy or Applied Behavioral Analysis. Established by behavioral psychologist, Ole Ivar Lovaas, ADA therapy began as a means to treat symptoms of autism spectrum disorder. The treatment consists of exercises repeated constantly until the individual memorizes and practices the exercises themselves. These repeated exercises include maintaining eye contact for prolonged periods of time, and hugging others, until the individual became comfortable, or at least stopped fighting back. This main purpose of this treatment was to treat symptoms of autism, and to teach individuals to hide or completely stop their behaviors. In addition to the exercises, individuals were prevented from engaging in stims, or self-stimulating behaviors, which includes flapping, rocking, or humming. There are many reasons that many people believe that ABA therapy is abusive, pertaining to both the older and modern methods of practice. Though the harsh methods of the past are now rejected, psychologists, therapists, and teachers still use methods that can be considered abusive to promote positive behaviors and denounce any negative behaviors. Many people on the spectrum believe that these, “negative,” behaviors are simply the way that their brain works.

As a part of their disability, many people with ASD stim, or engage in self-stimulating behaviors. These behaviors vary between flapping, rocking, vocal stims, jerking, jumping, yelling, spinning, and many others. These behaviors are simply part of autistic individuals' lives, and should be accepted as such, but are targeted by ABA therapies.

As a future Special Educator, I have observed classrooms where ABA therapy is used, and I believe that in addition to the therapies themselves, the personality of the instructor is key to the reactions of students. One teacher I observed told me that she can see the growth that her students have, and that they are more engaged in the classroom, but that ABA should be used in moderation, and that memorization and repetition can only go so far.

It caused the nursing workforce to be stressed, burnout, and caused a storage shortage in nurses. According to (Martin et al., 2023) “COVID-19 pandemic have stressed the U.S. nursing workforce, particularly younger, less experienced RNs…Coupled with disruptions to prelicensure nursing education and comparable declines among nursing support staff.” The pandemic has disproportionately impacted younger, less experienced registered nurses and disrupted pre-practice nursing education, resulting in a decline in nursing support staff. The impact of this pandemic did not only affect the well-being of our nurses but also strained the healthcare system and potentially affected patient care, emphasizing the need and support for nurses.

The question that comes to many citizens is if healthcare should be considered a universal right for people of high and low socioeconomic standing. A Gallup News survey shows that, as of 2023, 59% of Americans believe that the US government should make sure that all people in America have some form of healthcare coverage (Brenan, 2023). In a 2022 report done by the Kaiser Family Foundation, it was found that out of the 27 million Americans that do not have insured healthcare, 13 million of them come from low-income families. These households are living “200% below the federal poverty line.” (Tolbert et al. 2023)
