<title>How you can tell if a substance is ionic is if it was bonded with a metal and nonmetal, or when one gives one of their valence electrons to the other. How you can a substance is covalent is if it was bonded with two nonmetals, and if both the atoms share pairs of valence electrons. Lastly, how you can tell a substance is metallic is if it was bonded with two metals, they are formed between a cloud of delocalized electrons and the positively charged ions. - Chelsea</title>
