Our monthly food pantry exists to help ensure that our neighbors in Leominster have enough food to eat. Open on the fourth Saturday of the month, every month, the food pantry provides a range of fresh and canned groceries.

 

State legislation stipulates that food pantry clients must have a Leominster address, so don't forget to bring proof of this when you come.

CARES Act Unemployment Benefit Implementation: The Baker-Polito Administration earlier today announced details for the initial implementation of federal unemployment benefits in the CARES Act, the federal based COVID-19 relief package. Understanding the great urgency of Commonwealth residents to access these benefits, DUA has issued new guidance to instruct all qualifying residents of what actions they can now take to access CARES Act benefit programs.  Additional resources will be released over the course of the month and we will work hard to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.

Collecting Supplies
Friends, colleagues, partners, neighbors:
As you know, EEC’s Exempt Emergency Child Care Program (EECCP) is continuing to move forward. To date, we have approximately 500 programs operating across the Commonwealth committed to serving front-line workers. As this emergency situation continues, we anticipate many of these programs will begin seeing shortages of essential supplies, including cleaning/sanitation supplies, diapers, baby/disinfectant wipes, etc. To that end, we are soliciting help from all of you to donate any supplies you can to help support these programs and families during this challenging time. Over the next few weeks, we will be collecting supplies at EEC’s Regional Offices and coordinating with local partners to ensure these supplies are getting into the hands of those programs in need as efficiently and safely as possible. If you are able to donate bulk supplies to support this effort, please contact your EEC Regional Office for more information.

The fastest way for a family to be placed on the EEC waitlist for child care assistance (please see attachment) is to contact MASS211 by simply dialing 211 on their phone: Dial 211, leave a message with your name and phone number and be sure to mention that you want to be placed on a waitlist for child care assistance. A counselor will call you back to get your information and will let you know if you qualify.
