Hip- Hop dance originated in the 1960s and early 1970s in the South Bronx area of New York City. Hip- hop culture, includes type of music such as DJing, graffiti art, MCing (rapping) and beat-boxing. In 1967 Jamaican DJ known as Kool Herc started organising parties and performing rap music. After 7 years in 1974 Hip -Hop was invented by DJ Africa Bambaataa. The word Hip is taken from African American slang, and it identify the moving parts of the body, such as the legs and arms. The word Hop means jump. On September 21, 1982, the term hip-hop was first mentioned in the media, in an article Afrika Bambaataa’s Hip Hop in the magazine Village Voice. Later on, movies, clips, showed about Hip -Hop dancing style, which promoted Hip- Hop. Hip-Hop is becoming fashionable and cool because of this it is getting popular everywhere in the world.
