Take a picture and share on padlet what do you think about the page design. Is it good or bad? What would you suggest to make it more attractive?

Page Design

            Based on the article in this local newspaper, the page design that were created is a good page design. It is because, the story placement which are the strongest story goes at the top. Besides, the headline sizing also one of the important thing to the readers. The lead story will have the biggest headline than the other stories.

            Moreover, the modules on this page design which were discrete in rectangular units separate each of the stories. It contains five modules on it. First module is the teaser. Second module is headline. Third module is second story. Fourth module is story. And the last module is index. 

            Next, for my suggestion on this newspaper front page design, I think it should use the ‘ears’ in calling the attention to special features. This ears can giving the theme of the campus paper, presenting weather information and others.

            In other words, any of the interesting and important informatio can be designing on this front page by using the ears.

Based on the newspaper I have chosen, it is a broadsheet newspaper. A broadsheet newspaper is the largest newspaper format and is characterized by long vertical pages (typically 22 inches or 56 centimeters). The term derives from types of popular prints usually just of a single sheet, sold on the streets and containing various types of material, from ballads to political satire.

After that, the Utusan Malaysia broadsheet grid they use a variety of grids and they are 6 column, butting headlines with mix styles and dissimilar fonts and sizes.

In my opinion, the front page of news is very attractive because they took more photo than text. However they still keep all story shapes rectangular and the art was balance and contrast. But the story in front page of news is too crowded, because they put eleven of modules (the rectangular units of stories) in one page.

Besides, the stories are all in rectangular shape with an image each. The cutline of those images in the page are placed below them. Other than that, there is a boxing story which gives the readers a visual emphasis.

Berita Harian is a tabloid newspaper. This newspaper provide 6-column grid.In my opinion, the headline should be more suitable to attract the readers to get more interest when they read the news. The photo editor also suppose to choose the great photo to put on the news because photo is the one of the things that the readers focus on even the content in the news is very important. So, headline and photo of the front page are the important things that must be perfect with the great content and information in the news.

According to the newspaper that i have been choose, i think this page design is a very interesting. This is because of the attractive page design with various pictures to show the headlines for the newspaper and this make reader more interested. Although the page design look crowded, but because of colourful design, will make the reader more interesting to read. Page design of this newspaper have 5 modules. This newspaper has a tabloid grid design.  the tabloid grid is more effectively and popular with reader than broadsheet grid Then, this newspaper showed the dominant photo but its use jump stories that we must avoided. Moreover, the size of the page cover also very important as readers only read the headline before reading the other news stories. In conclusion, i think the tabloid grid is more effectively and popular with reader than broadsheet grid.

Based on the kosmo newspaper that i have choose the page design is tabloid grid. A style of grid is made up very attractive. It was design in vertical and use 6 column. Each stories is in a rectangular unit which can make the reader easy to read and make the story neatly because separated each story. The bold of headline and the picture of each story is clearly and can make the reader more understand.

Based on the newspaper that i have choose, what we can see here the main story in this page is quite intriguing to readers. Every design must according to credibility for designer to design their newspapers before publish. This newspaper has a tabloid grid design. The grid made up of vertical and horizontal lines.The broadsheet has 5 column. Horizontal for the main story and vertical line for other story. I would like to state my views, what is important and unique about this page,they provide press release yesterday or newspaper cutting. HARIAN METRO-Wednesday (4 October 2017)
The newspaper that I choose is Harian Metro. I think the news is very interesting and attractive to read. This newspaper use 6 column grid whereby command news in broadsheet. It can make newspaper close to the reader and moreover, it also can make the reader more focus and want to know about the story. There are three story in the news and very clear story. For me, the images of the news colourful.

In my opinion ,this newspaper using Tabloid grid. I think the company use the tabloid design to attract more readers. As we know, tabloid type newspapers are full with pictures and colours. Then , newspapers also easier to produce and cheaper to print out.Tabloid newspapers type also are easy to fill up the advertisement such as factory outlet sale and year end sale.  This newspaper tabloid grid are using the  suitable  size font and  good arrangement of main story.

     The suggestion to make tabloid newspapers more attractive are first place the most attractive advertisement or banner story in the right hand corner to get deeper attention.Second,avoid jump stories as mush as they can .Third,cover the leading stories substantially.Fourth,draws attention to the page and identifies the publication.

This newspaper is tabloid sheet. It is obviously half the size of broadsheet newspaper. The elements evenly aligned by adapting a page grid. This page is use the rectangular shape to make the story convenience to read . It emphasize what important and give each page a dominant image. No butting headlines.

In my opinion the page design is very good and so attractive to me and also to the reader because it is convenience for readers to understand the stories. This page is systematic because they put line between the stories to make it have a border between other news, also have the lift out quotes that show the important sources. 
Moreover it also highlight point of the information with red and yellow color to attract readers to read and knows the fact has a picture that relate the stories so it cannot make reader confuse.
