Dear, Diary,

My scheme is going wonderfully. As I am writing, I am making my way down to Washington D.C to plan on capturing President Abraham Lincoln at a play at a hospital for wounded warriors.

Dear Diary,

The day is October 1864, I have made it to Montreal and boy has it been a good day for me. At first, when went to capture Lincoln at the hospital, he didn't show, and that's when I got mad, mad enough to decide that, I want to kill Abraham Lincoln. As I arrived in Montreal, I was ready to get Lincoln, but I had to meet some people first. I met up with George Nicholas Sanders, another person who wanted to get Lincoln, for political reasons. After, I soon met up with Dr. Samuel A Mod, in Maryland, to assemble my team of killers. Later, I went to the bank and set up a savings account and deposited $1500, that Mod gave me. I used that money to assemble my team and it worked. Till now, I will write again, a my plan continues

Dear Diary,

I had three plans to kill Lincoln. The first was when I found out that he wanted to extend African Americans rights. I wanted to shoot Lincoln right there when he announced it. My second plan was to kidnap him while traveling, Lincolns plans changed so I couldn’t do that. The third and final time, I saw that Lincoln was at the theater I worked at
so that was a great time to kill him. I had easy access to anywhere in the
theater because I was very well known, and did not have to get permission to
get access to anywhere in the theater. This made it really easy for me to
get into the private box that Lincoln was in. I also had a group of conspirators who helped me plan out his assassinations. Except the two times before that the assassinations did not work. So I had to take matters into my own hands.

Dear Diary,

It is April 14, 1865, Lincoln occupied a private box above the stage with his wife Mary, an army officer. The Lincolns arrived late for the comedy, but the president was reportedly in a fine mood and laughed heartily during the production. I slipped into the box and fired his .44-caliber single-shot derringer into the back of Lincoln’s head. After stabbing Rathbone, who immediately rushed at him, in the shoulder, I leapt onto the stage .At first, the crowd interpreted the unfolding drama as part of the production, but a scream from the first lady told them
otherwise. Although I broke his leg in the fall, I managed to leave the
theater and escape from Washington on horseback.

Dear diary,

It is the twelfth day after the assassination. The only thing that I see is the small faint light that the crack of the barn doors provides. Richard Garret just gave me a small dark barn to hide in. It was very boring and lonely. Wait a minute! I hear voices. It must be the union and This is the moment I will play the biggest role of my lifetime, a wounded warrior so they won't realize it's me. However, right now I'm just going to stay in here until the police are gone. I could only focus on the smell of burning wood and the sound of screaming men. Burning wood! The barn is on fire! I must leave this barn! If I die, mom I did not fight in the army for the Confederacy like I promised you. But I did fight for them. Believe me. It was for my country.

April 14, 1865 11 pm

Dear Diary,

The day I've been waiting for has come true! My worst enemy, Abraham Lincoln, is dead! Tingles shiver down my spine just remembering the moment I killed him. Dictatorship and the wrong beliefs are over! I just left D.C. Many troops are already out to find me. But I still regret nothing. I will meet David Herold at the Plutomic River soon to take me down to Virginia. My compass is the only thing guiding me on my trusty horse to the Plutomic River. I cannot make any wrong turn or I will not make it out alive. It's a lot of pressure, but the experience is so exhilerating! So much pressure was on me to destroy this evil dictator, and I did! I've never been so proud of myself. The whole confederacy and well being of America depended on me! If only the rest of the poputation of America realized this as well.
