- Due to sea floor spreading it caused and still causes the Earths lands to spread away from one another. And then subduction zones cause new land forms such as mountains and volcanoes. - Tectonic plates move from a couple different occurrences, one being due to the increase amount of heat. The heat from the core causes the plate to move in a convection cell that rises upward. - Yes, plates are always moving and changing due to erosion and or weathering. Plates move at certain speeds but there is still a possibility for them to change in speed that is most likely caused specifically by other occurrences.
