Andrew Gochis spent four years as part of the recruiting team for Baylor's football program, and also recorded practices, camps, and games for the team's head coaches. He subsequently worked as part of the Baylor Athletics Facilities team responsible for setting up the school's arena for select events.

Andrew Gochis joined Troy ISD in the summer of 2022. He teaches 6th grade social studies as well as 7th and 8th grade physical education. He's also the 7th grade head basketball coach, defensive ends coach for all football teams, and junior high track coach. Also a basketball coach, he led the team to a third-place finish in district standings in his first season.

A valued member of the Waco community, Mr. Gochis received the Heart of a Servant award from Mission Waco in 2016 for his special needs ministry at Highland Baptist Church and his service to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is the youngest recipient of the award in its history.
