I was brought up in HCMC, which is an economic center-point area in my country. It's known as a bustling urban since the pace of life is quite rapid compared to other places. Regarding the landscape, what you can see here is mostly built-up areas with modern infrastructure, however is not well-organized in some particular outskirt areas. In contrast, the center of the city is filled with greens and countless places of interest (many of France's old buildings with their 19th specific architecture when they colonized the city a hundred years ago). In terms of the city's transportation, the popular vehicles here are motorbikes and cars. The daily view here is a road packed with bikes on the left side and cars on the other side during rush hour. There's also a train system and a current-building subway which is expected to come into operation in two years. Since it is such a dynamic city, no one can deny its convenience with great amenities right, left and centre, ideal for working, learning, and entertaining too. That explains why the flow of people flocking here to settle down is on an upward trend.

I had thought that they were talking in English and that I couldn't understand a single thing till I looked at the title. That scared me honestly, my English cannot be that terrible, right? (though it is not so good)

I believed that I could identify content words in a sentence before this lesson and I haven't changed my mind yet but I figured out that being able to stress and speak that sentence naturally is not easy at all=)) I recorded myself and it was hell. => I guess I should watch more native speakers on social media from now on

It is quite a driving force when practicing speaking with surrounding classmates and finding out that they have the same problem as me (I'm not judging or anything, just feel great to know that mispronouncing or hesitation are common errors). Still, I guess I have to practice speaking and shadowing more

I also learned some new phrases related to traveling and working (precincts - roads where vehicles are not allowed to enter, package holidays, current affairs, long-haul flights, etc.

Matters that we hear via mass media tend to create prejudiced beliefs according to what the narrators want to show you and this is dangerous in some specific ways since we spend plentiful time keeping up to date with news through those means. For instance, black people rarely showed up on media and it is suggested that this could create self-imposed constraints among the blacks. Even when there are dark-skinned characters, their images are usually the stereotype in white narrators' eyes, and those films also showed how a relationship with whites raises the blacks' social stand. All are to distract the dark-skins from race relations problems which could be traced back to the slavery period years ago. This issue is also the case for pop culture and was called "Colourism" coined by Alice Walker, an activist and author. Hence, from now on, strive to rethink thoroughly what you learn about through storytellers to support and give others generally, the dark skins, in particular, the platform to raise their voices.

AN INTERESTING NEWS STORY

The story I'd like to tell here is more likely a reportage called " Trap ", reported by Vietnam Television. "Trap" is about the desperate lives of Vietnamese labor exporters in Cambodia's "scam casino online" companies and how they end up getting into that situation. At the beginning of the report are interviews with the families of those labor exporters and most of them are despairing, owning to their children, their close relatives being missing. They also mentioned that the last messages they received from the labor exporter were to pay an overwhelming ransom to get their children returned home from Cambodia, or else, they would be sold or killed. In "Trap", the national television journalists penetrated this illegal pipeline. They contacted an agency (of course against the law) to sign a contract to work in those scam casino companies with the simple criteria like no need for university graduation or workers can be computer illiterate with a promise of lavish salaries. After they were in those companies, they figured out that their job there was to defraud Vietnamese to play those scam casino platforms. Even worse, if they can't defraud anyone, they will get horribly abused and be sold to another company at a high price and this continues as a loop till their price is prohibitive, then they are sold to their own family. The Cambodian government and the police have nothing to do with this since those companies are based in autonomous regions. If their family can't afford it, they will never be home again or will be abused to death and then return home in ashes. Those labor exporters, however, can get out of this terrible situation by deserting those companies and running back to Vietnam but it is risky since if they are caught, they will die. Fortunately, those journalists who filmed this reportage were able to escape and return to Vietnam, though they were badly injured from being beaten during the working days.

The last changing room is to the right side of the reception, its door facing the sports shop. You can get to the 25m long pool through another door in this room too and next to this pool is the seating area, whose door facing the Café. Turning back to the main gate of the sport center, make a right turn and walk pass the Café, you can see a sports hall on the left side and right beyond this hall is a corridor with its left-side rooms are all dance studios.

raw materials

internal machines

aimlessly

kill two birds with one stone

fundamentally

equivalent

pump iron

wither away

sabotage

subconsciously

short-lived

hardwired activity

inflammation

heart failure

a bouquet of sth

sedentary lifestyle

evolve

internal physical balance

hardwired

Summary:

Losing weight is a hard process and in many ways, your own body is sabotaging that process of yours. The account for why your eat is that the energy from food, called calories, is crucial for the internal machines to work their jobs. Thanks to those energy, your muscles are able to move around and the harder you move, the more calories they burns and if you do not work out then those are redundant and they will turn into fat. There are two ways to lose weigh: eating less or working out more, the second one is usually claimed to be able to kill two birds with one stone as it also can make you healthier. However, this is not precisely the case. It's showed that the difference in calories burning of a man who work out and who do not is not so far since according to your weight, your body has a stable fixed amount of calories being burnt in a day. That's also explain why your body might sabotage you by make you subconsciously being distracted by things around while doing some exercise or just keep your workout in a specific limit. But if you suddenly change your lifestyle and jump on doing some exercise, the amount of energy being burnt in the first days will be huge. Afterward, this figure will gradually return at the original one. On one hand, if you keep maintain this lifestyle for months, your body will automatically burn the same calories everyday even with or without your workout.

Your body have the budget for hardwired activities per day and if you cannot address this, the redundant calories will be overused by your internal organs and this is not a good sign since it can cause some inflammation that you might not aware of and they will turn to chronic ones someday, which could lead to serious illnesses such as cancel or heart failure. Another way your body consumes those energy is that to trigger a hormone called cortisol, contributing to stress or even worse chronic stress. They account for bouquet of health issues. In conclusion, if you do not work out, the calories will still be burnt by your daily activities but doing exercise is a mechanism that your body needs to keep your internal physical balance.

In the mid-19th century, when religious beliefs were no longer as vigorous as before, a question was raised: where could people find the things they used to learn from churches? As a result, libraries, museums, and universities are established to fulfill this demand. However, there is a trouble, what they assumed could be taught in universities, according to what they learned from religions is not practical. While in fact, some bigger and more necessary questions are claimed to be the opposite. In the future, there might be the chance that the Department of history, literature, and philosophy will be replaced by a more practical department, to pick up on the issues that are directly related to our current life we won't have to scrabbling around to find the mean of this life.
