Ted had been an athlete since he was little, he played all kinds of sports. 

In spite of the season being over he wanted to keep practising.

Ted was distracted and suddently he tripped over a tree root and fell. His hand got stuck in a hole and he tried to liberate it but he couldn’t. 

Then, Ted realized he was bleeding, he couldn’t tell if it was from his arm or his leg.

He started shivering and felt something climb up his arm.

He saw a chubby cockroach on his arm, Ted screamed but no one could hear him, at least he thought so, but then he saw some lights from a car.

He called out for help and an old man got off the passing truck and helped him out.

The old man toook him to the hospital but it was a challenge to get him out of the hole.

Later Ted found out that the man who had saved him was a retired rock star and he gave na interview to channel 8.

The primary rules of the reported speech are:
-Present simple becomes past simple.
-Present continuous becomes past continuous.
-Present perfect becomes past perfect.
-Past simples becomes past perfect.
-Will becomes would.
-Can becomes could.
-May becomes might.
- Must becomes had to.
-Have to becomes had to.
-1st person becomes 3rd person.
-Expression like tomorrow, yesterday, next week become the following day, the day before, the following week...
