This is an inspired model because Oprah addresses some of the serious concerns affecting girls going to school. Being a boarding school, girls do not have to worry about the time and risk of commuting to school. All tuition is also free, meaning the school is truly open to the disadvantaged. Additionally, Oprah's school ensures girls have access to amenities like running water, electricity, and a library. She also provides the students with places for enrichment like the garden, gym, and salon.

This is a misguided model because Oprah leaves some serious questions unanswered. Although starting with smaller class sized may be beneficial for getting the program off the ground, expanding the class sizes or admission number will create greater opportunity for more girls. There is also the question of maintaining and funding this facility. Oprah would need to ensure that she will continue to keep an eye on this school and maintain quality/funding that is expected if/when the school is struggling.

I believe it is an inspired model because Oprah is setting down the foundation to encourage others to give disadvantaged people better opportunities. She is helping these girls get a better education and become women who will pave the way for others in the future. It is her dream and she has the ability to fulfill her dream and help who she wants. I think it is inspiring because she is giving these girls the opportunities she wish she had when she was younger.

Shes a billionaire...shooting for a school to only hold 450 children. With such a large country. It's so small for someone with so much wealth. How is Oprah working with others to support the country post apartheid other than building this very small school? I know it's small bc I went to a small middle and high school of about this size...
This is a bandaid solution to a much bigger issue. How are these girls then supported after their academic life? Is it not hard for them to succeed even with an education? Like I said she's a billionaire, she had to think further ahead than just educating these girls. What about helping them by preparing them with what to expect after they graduate? What about networking them with companies and federal agencies?
