Teaching vocabulary and developing language may be overwhelming, especially for ELLs. It is imperative that teachers develop their lessons appropriately in terms of usage of language. Implementing strategies and concepts likes scaffolding and teacher-guided reporting will prompt students to accept more formal control over their learning experience. Students will be given the tools and will be asked to apply those tools in their learning through classroom activities. After participating and engaging in select activities, students will be able to relay that knowledge and reflect on their experiences. With this, students will become well-equipped to complete their summative assessments.

Coming up with the "how" of the game plan is important. It is critical to have students to be associated and involved in their tasks. Evaluating different methods and processes that works well with students will allow them to become more successful. Every student will function and operate different in the classroom, for various approaches and strategies may be applied. It is important to determine what strategies will work and how they can be incorporated in the classroom. Being thorough with planning a strategy will gear the student in the right direction by allowing them to critically think about a situation and will teach them how to solve problems.

Talking and communication is necessary in the classroom environment. Sharing ideas and having conversations will help in many areas. Students will be practicing and applying social skills as well as developing appropriate speaking and listening skills between classmates. For ELLs, this would be a great opportunity to also swap and exchange linguistic ideas and terminology. Students will be able to learn both from an academic and personal level when they interact with one another. There are also various ways to communicate in the classroom. Teacher can have students participate in groups, partners, or collectively as a class.

Becoming hands-on and using technology will advance the learning experience for students. Students will be able to use outside resources to enhance their learning as well as becoming interactive with the content. Teachers should be also be embracing realia in the classroom. Bringing in real-life objects will allow students to become engaged with the lesson, which will also promote them to become stimulated to create new connections. Using real-life objects will have students see what they are learning applied to a real circumstance.

Pace and projection matters. How fast is the material being taught? One class period? Two? Teachers should be reflecting on how quickly they are explaining and teaching information to their students. Students should not feel rushed to learn something nor get bored because the pace is too slow. Finding the balance of speed for ALL students is important. Most units fall under a timeline, so it the teacher's repsonsibility that the student are on track. Even if this means creating extra time for those who have trouble, it is appropriate that all students are on track with understanding the material.

Projection is a concept that teachers need to become aware of. This involves the method of delivery of teaching. Is the style strictly monitored? Formal and lecture style? Coach style? The teacher must determine what angle works best with their students. The teacher must also find a balance between methods and styles of teaching in order to teach effectively.

Actively monitoring the students, and performing self-assessments or evaluations will expose and reveal different issues in the classroom. When students are working thoroughly and remain on task, they will be able to take on more responsibility, which in turn build different skills.

The purpose of review and assessment is to prove that students are understanding the overall/overarching standards. Summative assessments reflects on what has happened, the impact, and the effectiveness of the learning situation. Summative assessments are conducted less frequently and are completed after instruction.

In order to complete an assessment, students can prepare by reviewing important concepts, keywords and vocabulary, diagrams, or other materials that was used that relates to the content.

Completing an assessment entails of measuring overall progress, (what steps were taken, what strategies were used to reach a goal/objective), analyzing and evaluating (what was the process of completion? what changes were revised to make the processes more effective and purposeful?), and determining results (were elements/criteria of a rubric/prompt met? what levels/standards are students at?) Assessments must be fair and valid to ensure higher chances of success.
