They faced many of the problems that the men of the 54th Massachusetts regiment. Most black men did not fight in the war because the white thought they were not qualified for the duties of fighting. "The Tuskegee Airmen overcame segregation and prejudice to become one of the most highly respected fighter groups of World War II".-Tuskegee Airman history. I think they were respected because the white people started to realize that they were turning into better pilots then they were being.
