It's an iconic Sydney home whose history is marked by an obsession with ownership and status stretched and undermined by changing financial circumstances. Elizabeth Bay was named in honor of Mrs. Macquare. Sir Thomas Brisbane , Governor 1821-1825, designated Elizabeth Bay as the site of an institution for the mentally ill. During the recession of the 1840s, the house and gardens fell into disrepair. Today it is used as a museum .

Taronga Zoo is the official Zoo of Sydney. It was officially opened on 7 October 1916. Taronga Zoo Sydney is managed by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales. It also has a sister Zoo in Dubbo. Taronga Zoo Sydney is home to more than 2,600 animals of approximately 250 different species. It has a zoo shop, a cafe, and an information centre. Taronga Zoo is popular for many reasons one of them is the fact they had the first elephant born in Australia.
At 3.04 am on 4 July 2009, Thong Dee, an Asian elephant, gave birth to a male calf named Luk Chai. He is the first calf ever born in Australia. Thong Dee, and his father Gung, were two of the eight elephants imported into Australia to participate in the Australasian Conservation Breeding Program.
A further two calves were expected to be born at Taronga in the following two years. The baby elephant is a major tourist attraction, with thousands of visitors attending the zoo just to see him.The Taronga Zoo was also visited by the royal family on the 20th April 2004. Most Revisions say that Taronga Zoo is a very fun place and if you are in Sydney you should surely visit it. The only thing holding it back is it’s price since an adult ticket costs 51 dollars and a child ticket costs 30.
