The book Esperanza Rising was mostly about a wealthy Mexican girl who's farther was a wealthy land owner. That all changes when her farther dies her, her uncles burn down her house, and then her uncles try to marry her mother. So she is forced to move to America and live like a peasant. So she has to learn that money isn't everything and if you have family that is everything that you need. What I like most about this book was when Miguel brought Abuelita home just to restore Esperanza's hope. So that is what I loved about this story that your friends will always be there when you need them. I recommend this book because it gives you a a bit of a history lesson and it kind of gives you so many mixed emotions through out the story. Which you need in every story!

This book is about a Mexican girl that has been born into the wealth. She sadly looses her father when he got attacked one night of his brothers plan when he was working. She also looses her house in a fire because of her fathers brother. Because of her house was burnt down, she now is poor and has to live in a camp in America. When they leave they have too leave behind Abuelita. I liked this book because even though Esperanza went through really hard times, she still found a way to always be happy. Even though she was a little rude some time, she learns more into the story that you don't need money to be happy and that you can be happy with just family.

i like when Miguel brought back abuela to Esperanza after they got into an argument. i think he did that because he wanted to prove Esperanza wrong because she said '' things don't get better'' so he left with her money just to bring abuela back. so he proved that things can get better after they got worse.

Her uncles try to take over and now Esperanza and her family has to move to the United States during the Great Depression. She is now poor and has to learn how to do chores, cook, clean, and learn how to take care of the babies Lupe and Pepe. I liked the part when Esperanza learned how to do chores because she showed everyone that she could do something and not just sit around. I would recommend this book because it's very inspiring.

Esperanza rising is about a wealthy Mexican girl who is the only child. One day her father never came back from working in the fields. Esperanzas uncles came back with her dead father in the back of a wagon. A couple days later her house was burned down. So they moved to California because if tehy didn't Esperanza's mother would have to marry Tio Luis. It took them days to get to the US. Once they got there they were greeted by other family, Juan, Josefina, Isabel, Pepe, and Lupe at the train station. Once they got to the camp they got settled in. They were there for a couple of years then there was a dust storm and mama got Valley Fever. Esperanza wasn't aloud to see her for 5 minths because of germs. After mama got back an dwas back at teh ca,mo for about couple of months Esperanza had a racism fight with Miguel and that caused him to go off with Esperanza's money orders. HAfter a couple of days he called and asked Hortensia, Alfonso and Esperanza to picik him up at t6eh train station.

Esperanza Rising is about a girl that is the daughter of a wealthy land owner. Her fathers' brothers killed him and burnt down their house because everyone liked his wife and he can marry his wife and become governor. Esperanza, mama, Hortensia, Miguel, and Alfonso escaped to a farm in California and leave Abuelita behind. The all worked very hard on the farm and eventually mama caught coccidioidomycosis, aka valley fever. Esperanza works hard to make money to help mama and bring Abuelita home. Miguel steals all Esperanzas money and brings Abuelita home and mama starts to feel better. I think it was a pretty good book. Unless you count the fact that In the beggining of the book both Esperanza and Marta were snarky and incontrovertible and they both liked Miguel because he was very indubitable and they could both always rely on him. I like the fact that in the end the show that Miguel were finally on the same side of the river of society. I like it because Esperanza always had a crush on him and Miguel always had a crush on her and now it will work out. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes perilous and interconnection between 2 people that are on " Opposite Sides Of The River". Because they are always on some kind of adventure, either physically or emotionally.

I liked the book because of all the amazing parts through out the story putting it all together. The book is about a Mexican girl named Esperanza who loved his papa until it was near her birthday when Miguel and Alfonso came home with papa under a blanket dead under a truck. Then papas brothers come and ask to marry mama and she says no until he burns down the house and burns the vine yard. So they settled and mama said yes i will marry you but instead she and the rest of the family rain away as leaving Abuelita behind. They arrive in California and end up working form money as Esperanza is now a peasant and is no longer wealthy. They work and one day mama gets valley fever and was in the hospital for 5-6 moths. She comes back and when Miguel took all Esperanza money Miguel spent on what Esperanza really wanted. that was to bring Abuelita back for mama. They lesson was to don't be afraid to start a new life some where else. My favorite part was when Miguel got what Esperanza wanted unknowing he was doing that by bringing Abuelita back home for mama as a surprise.

Esperanza Rising is about the daughter of a wealthy landowner in Aguascalientes, Mexico. When her father is murdered by her uncles and her house burns down, she must escape her Tio Luis by migrating to America. Throughout the journey, Esperanza learns what it is like to be poor, and starts to realize that she is not the spoiled daughter anymore. When they reach California, Esperanza has to learn how to do simple chores she never had to complete before. When Mama gets sick, Esperanza must learn to work hard to bring Abuelita from Mexico. But when Mama finally comes home, the money is gone! They figure out that Miguel took the money to bring Abuelita home. This is a great book of loss and recovery, and I highly recommend it to those who think they will never get out of a low point in their life.

Esperanza Rising is a book about a very spoiled daughter of a wealthy landowner and how here life took a big turn after her Papa died. She lived a very lucky life as a spoiled girl but her father got murdered by her uncle , Tio Luis. Then, Tio Luis tortures Esperanza and her Mama even more by setting their house on fire , asking Mama to marry him, and taking over their home, El Ranchos De Las Rosas. Esperanza and her Mama couldn't take it anymore and they decided to leave to America with their servants, Miguel, Hortensia, and Alfonso. Things did not get much better in America. They had to leave Abuelita behind, they became peasants which Esperanza was not used to, they had to work hard, they came during the Great Deppression, some people were going on strike when they came, and Mama got sick. With the help of Isabel, Hortensia, Miguel, Alfonso, and Isabel's parents, things would get better. My favorite part of the book was when Abuelita came to America because everyone was so happy to see her that it made me very happy for them. This book taught me that even if you're going through a hard time, things will get better. I would defenitely reccommend this book because it is a touching story about a girl going through a hard time and how they try to solve all of their problems. It made me happy and it made me cry. I really like how much the characters change throughout the book because it makes it very unique.

The night before her birthday her Papa was ambushed, Mama and Esperanza have to travel to America to stay safe, they soon realize hard work and race. She has to learn she is poor and has to work to keep the family stable with money. One day Mama becomes very ill and has to go to the hospital. Esperanza will have to learn how to become mature and overcome obstacles, meanwhile Miguel there past servant brings home one big surprise. My favorite part was when Miguel brought Abuelita to Mexico. This book taught me how people worked so hard and got so little because of their skin color. This book proves you can be happy with just family around you. It teaches people race, hard work, and how treating others makes a difference.

In Esperanza Rising the book is mostly about a very wealthy Mexican girl. At the beginning of the book Esperanza's Papa was very rich and they had a vineyard. Then her dad was taking forever to come back home from work but then Tio Luis came with some bad knews that Papa could not be found. But then Tio Luis was trying to marry Mama and mama said yes. But Tio Luis didn't know that mama was just tricking him so they could get out and go to America. When they got to America Esperanza was still that rich spoiled immature kid and was being really rude to the poor. But then Esperanza isn't that rich spoiled kid anymore and needed to work outside and get dirty like the other people that when she was rich she didn't even want to go by. Then Esperanza mom got very sick with Valley Fever and Esperanza couldn't see her mom for 5 months. But during that time Esperanza was being very mature and helping out and getting money orders so she could bring Abuelita to her and mama. Then Esperanza's money orders were gone and then she figures out that Miguel takes her money to go get Abuelita. I would recommend you to get this book and read it because it is really interesting. One interesting thing is when Tio Luis killed his own brother just so he could become governor. Another interesting thing is when Esperanza was being rude to that little girl on the train just because the little girl was dirty and poor. I think that was interesting because it shows you how spoiled and immature she was. Overall it is a really good book.

Her and Her family had to escape to America where Esperanza has to learn to work. When she gets there Isabel tries to teach her how to do things around the house. A big dust storm comes by and mama has to go to the hospital for 5 months. Esperanza goes to work for mama to get money to bring Abuelita. At work Esperanza hears strikers. She realizes they are striking for better conditions. The strikers are stoped. Miguel took the money Esperanza had made to get Abuelita back to them. Miguel went and got Abuelita with that money. Mama comes home and they are all together with a new start. I liked this book because it really show how some people can have struggles but come back from them like the mountains and the valleys.

Esperanza Rising is about a spoiled rich daughter, of a landowner that live in Aguascalientes, Mexico. But everything changed when her papa was murdered by tio Luis, and when he set the house on fire. After that hey had nothing left, except each other. Tio Luis kept forcing mama to marry him but she didn't, because of that they had to move to the United States. When then they got to the United States, Esperanza was really upset because she didn't like the condition that they were going to be living in, but what she didn't know was that everything was not going to be the same like when she was rich. She had to do chores, take care of the house, cook, and also take care of twins. She thought that she was going to be able to do everything but she didn't even know how to do anything, all she does is embarrass her self. Isabel thought her how to do mostly everything she needed to do. Mama gets a valley fever because of a sand storm and, the barely have money to buy stuff they need, mama was sent to the hospital for 5 months, So that meant Esperanza had to work even harder to get money to bring money, and bring abulita. Mama is finally out of the hospital and Miguel brings abulita. The reason why i like it is because it shows that sometimes life isn't always great but you still have to try. I recommend this book because it shows that you can always get better at stuff when you try, and try your best

Esperanza Rising is a story about a Mexican girl who was born into a a wealthy family. Her Papa is murdered by his jealous and uncaring brothers who also set fire to their house. Esperanza and Mama have to escape to America with Miguel, Alfonso, and Hortensia but without Abuelita. While in America, some workers who are unhappy with how they're being treated go on strike and threaten the workers who are doing their job and not going on strike. Mama gets sick, so Esperanza has to work in the fields to get money to help with the family needs and to try to bring Abuelita to America. At the end of the book, Mama gets released from the hospital and Miguel brings Abuelita to America. I liked when Esperanza started to work in the fields and accept the life that she was living because it showed that she was growing up and maturing. I would recommend this book to others because it shows you that you can be happy with the situation that you're in and that things can get better.

The story is mostly about a 13 year old girl who was only suppose to give orders and nothing else, but sadly Esperanza, the daughter of the wealthy family, her father was ambushed and killed. A couple days later the house caught fire and Tio Luis had told Mama that he would restore all of their money if she had agreed to marry him. If she had said yes, Esperanza would have to go to a boarding school far away from Mama. They got a plan, and they secretly moved to the USA for a job and to get away from Tio Luis. I honestly adored this book, I liked it because it was off a real event, The Mexican Revolution some stuff I also liked is how a wealthy girl, who is now poor was able to change. She was spoiled rotten, didn't care for others, and she wouldn't share her dolls with anyone else, that gave off an instant sign that Esperanza only cared for herself and Mama. I would definitely recommend this book for people who love suspense and heart-warming stories like this one in general.

Esperanza Rising is about a young girl who is born into a very wealthy ranch called El Rancho De Las Rosas. She must later leave her home because of her uncle Luis who wants to marry Esperanza's mother to win governor. He kills Esperanza's father and burns down their house. Esperanza must leave to go to America where she still feels that she is a wealthy queen of the world who will never be poor or a "peasant" and doesn't know that she's a peasant already. She later in the book discovers that she was wrong all along and so she seems to mature and even gives food to people with less than her. When she leaves to go to America she must be separated from her grandmother who ends up coming to America because of one of the servants from the ranch named Miguel who is Esperanza's sort of love interest. My favorite part of the book is when Abuelita or the grandmother gets to America because of how powerful it was and it almost made me well up with tears.

Esperanza Rising is about an immature, spoiled girl who's the daughter of a wealthy land owner in Mexico. Her life changed when her Papa was killed and eventually had to run away with Mama to escape her evil uncles who took everything from them. They lived in an immigration camp and Mama worked in the sheds and fields to support themselves. But Mama became very ill so Esperanza had to take on the work. After experiencing these things she matured and starts to accept her new life. My favorite part was when Esperanza gave Isabel her doll. I like this part because it shows how much she's matured, how much she cares for Isabel, how much she's changed since she was on the train coming to America, and because the doll is important to her but she realized that she doesn't need it (became less greedy). I would recommend this book to others because it teaches an important life lesson. Not only that but it teaches you a lot about the past and has amazing characters. It also shows that you can't buy happiness, it comes from the people you love and your perspective on life.

There she did not have servants who did everything for her. Instead she had to learn how to do simple house chores. Her mother comes down with valley fever and must be hospitalized, but while in the hospital she get pneumonia as well. Esperanza saves up a lot of money to go get her grandmother form Mexico since they had to leave her there because she was hurt. Soon after Mama is let out of the hospital, Esperanza realizes her money has been stolen. She knew who had stole it immediately. Miguel! A little while later Miguel comes back with Abuelita, her grandmother. Esperanza finally realizes that life will never be the same as in Aguascalientes, Mexico. My favorite part is when her uncle, Tio Luis, who was the one who ordered her Papa's murder and the destroying of her home, acted like he did absolutely nothing when it was obvious that he did it. Definitely a 5 star!!!!!! Maybe the best book ever!

This book was an amazing book about a teenage Mexican girl who had to move to America because of her Uncle Luis trying to marry Mama. Another thing that happened which caused her to leave was her Papa dying due to one of his brothers ordering his wagon to be ambushed while he was out doing rounds. When they made it to America they were greeted by Miguel's cousins Isabel, Lupe, and Pepe. They were also greeted by his aunt and uncle. Esperanza was always wealthy back in Mexico, but here they are quite poor since they couldn't take money out of they back since it was her Uncle Luis's bank. Mama had later gotten sick from a dust storm, and couldn't work. Esperanza then stepped up to the plate to work in Mama's spot when she couldn't. Mama was in the hospital for many months before she could leave. It was hard for Esperanza to see her mom in her condition, but it was worth it when she came home. Mama was still very weak, but then Abuelita came from Mexico cause Miguel brought her there. Then the story closed up with Esperanza turning 14 and starting yet, another year, of mountains and valley's. Overall I loved reading this book and totally recomend it

This book is about a wealthy Mexican girl in the 1930's. Her dad passes away a day before her birthday. This is the doing of her evil uncles, Tio Luis and Tio Marco. When Mama says no to Tio Luis' proposal, he burns down their house, with all of their belongings. This forces Esperanza, the girl, her mom, and their most trusted servants to move to America in the middle of the Great Depression, as servants. It is hard work in the migrant camp. Esperanza now has to work instead of being waited on. Unfortunately, Mama gets very sick. Esperanza knows that she has to bring her grandma to America. In time, Mama gets better. Esperanza raises enough money to bring her grandma to the camp. That is the beginning of their new life. I liked this book because it kept you wanting to read the next chapter. I would recommend it.

Esperanza Rising was a beautiful story about a Spanish girl who's father was a wealthy landowner. After her father dies, Esperanza must leave for the U.S. and find work there, in hope that her greedy Tio Luis doesn't find them. I rate this book 4 stars, it has part that are heartwarming, and parts that are downright tragic. It has a story line that words can't describe. Esperanza Rising is a wonderful book, I would read it again, and again.
