This was a Soviet deployment of nuclear missiles in Cuba. Just then a comprise happens between Khrushchev and JFK they agreed to remove the missiles form Cuba as for American promise not to invade the island. </p>]]></description>

The nation had gave at least 15 percent of the nations wealth to the poor. With support of the U.S exiles tried to fight back but failed which ended up pushing Cuba closer to the Soviet Union.</p>]]></description>

They feared of being overthrown by the commies. Soviet forces soon realized that they were in a war they could not win. The U.S aided Afghanistan which led to a Soviet withdraw in 1989.</p>]]></description>
