Our response to conflict says many things about human beings. For one, it shows how we can often discriminate. In the blast "Conflict in Communities", the author writes, "Even worse, they often discriminate in favor of their own group, and expect that fellow group members will do the same for them. The belief that one’s own tribe, ethnic group, nation, or culture is superior to other groups is known as “ethnocentrism.” As you can see, many people will favor a certain group over another because of things such as race, religion, or nationality. Though we can react negatively to conflict, some humans react in a positive way. For example, some groups of people will come together and face the conflict as a whole. This can be found in paragraph eight of the blast "Conflict in Communities", "This tendency sometimes causes people to band together in the face of conflict." This is how most people SHOULD act, but many do not. Overall, people react to conflict in many positive and negative ways.

Our response to conflict says that we will prefer someone more than another, based on things that we have in common. In paragraph two it says, "Almost all people tend to favor their own “in group,” and look with contempt on other “out groups.” Even worse, they often discriminate in favor of their own group, and expect that fellow group members will do the same for them." Also, in paragraph four it says, "Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups (such as “Group X” and "Group Y”), or even when they are separated by a coin flip. In one study, participants were shown two paintings and then divided into groups based on their preference for one artist or the other. When participants were later asked to give money to others in the study, they consistently gave more money to the people in their group." This shows that we prefer people with similar interests, and might even dislike someone with different interests. All in all, we are very quick to judge just based on things that are different than us.

Its not bad that we always go to war buts its definitely not good. To back up my response I used evidence from the Blast. The evidence being found in paragraph eight when it says ,"Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups (such as “Group X” and "Group Y”), or even when they are separated by a coin flip.". That statement shows that we usually are on our side just because its our side and we don't take time to realize what is actually happening.

Our response to conflict says a lot about us as humans. When we respond to conflict, we normally take the side of argument we agree with the most, especially with people we know. This is proved in the text, where it states in the 4th paragraph, "When participants were later asked to give money to others in the study, they consistently gave more money to the people in their group. These studies suggest that we are quick to show preference toward a person who is one of us and to discriminate against a person from another group." Also, when we agree with people, it brings us closer because it would one more thing we have in common, but as the text also says, taking sides can also drive people apart.

This can be applied to anything politics, sports, religions, music, etc. Based on what the text states, people tend to prefer something based on their own opinion, and then look at things from an "us vs. them" perspective. It just shows that we tend to let our own point of view interfere with understanding someone else's point of view.

The way we respond to things is bias. Many things should be changed about that.Preference tears apart our nation. Many people that are bias have often lead to discriminating others, or a feeling of superiority, ethnocentrism, in the 2nd paragraph of our blast. This stems to war. Hitler killed is many innocent people just for the sake of discrimination and being bias towards a race, or in this case antisemitism. World War made us scared, especially after Pearl Harbor. Innocent Japanese people came to America looking for a better life just to be thrown in an concentration camp for their race. Based on the understanding Americans back than have completely thrown off every cliche "don't judge a book by it's cover" messages out the window. To wrap this up, in the Blast: "Conflict in Communities" it states,"These studies suggest that we are quick to show preference toward a person who is one of us and to discriminate against a person from another group". So in conclusion, the way we respond to things is too biased and leads to more conflicts.

Our response to conflict shows many things about us as human beings from how violent we can be to how scared we may be. The way we respond to conflict sometimes shows and/or brings out the hate in us. One great example of this is during World War one Germany and Italy felt like they gained anything in the treaty of Versailles and because of the anger citizens felt, both countries let and wanted the dictators that rose, being Hitler and Mussolini, to rule their countries so therefor because of the conflict of WWl that still lingered WWll started. Some evidence from the text that supports this idea as well is in paragraph 8 it states "Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups (such as “Group X” and "Group Y”), or even when they are separated by a coin flip." this discrimination that takes place is another horrible side affect of conflict I.E. the holocaust. Because Hitlers conflict involved the Jews he discriminated them and had them mass murdered. In conclusion, the way humans response to conflict is sub par from OK and without change history would always repeat itself.

Our response to conflict can show and say many things about us and what we stand for. One for example, is how we react to having two different groups, the group we are in (ingroup) and the groups you are not incorporated in (outgroups) as "Conflict in Community" called them. That article also stated that " many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups" They create conflict because of the group they are placed in even when there is no reason to argue. This can actually show a good thing because it shows that we stand up for our team and are more trustworthy toward them. On the other hand, it is not good because it separates us as humans. We may be seen as something different because we are in a different race or maybe even completely overlooked because of our ethnicity but we in the end are all humans. Engaging in the conflict can show that a person wants to defend what they believe in while not being part of conflict can mean that a person just doesn't want to start problems.

The response we have to conflict can say numerous things about us as people. One thing it says about us is how much we care about others and ourselves. To clarify, normally people respond to disagreements with hate or neutrality. These are two of the ways people react to conflict. If you respond with anger it shows that you are a more aggressive person with an approach that follows as such. Then there are people who respond to conflict neutrally, meaning they don't necessarily take a side but try to put an end to conflict. In addition, there are always the people who don't do anything and don't care what so ever. This shows that the person is selfish, I say this because conflict usually deals with multiple groups/people. Like it states in the text, people tend to side with groups/people by using favoritism. So if somebody sees that somebody relatable is in trouble or in the midst of conflict they help that group. They do this because they can relate to that group/person so they want to make sure they have support because they are fighting for the same cause. An example of this can be found in both of the World Wars. In these acts of conflict were the Allies. These allies were countries who sided with each other in war. They did this because, as I stated, they can relate and are fighting for the same thing. So, the people who chose not tot do anything or not to care at all are selfish because they chose to play it safe rather than to help others. In conclusion, the way you respond to conflict can say a lot about you the character you express.

Our response to conflict shows a few things about us. To begin with, our response to conflict shows that humans are quick to discriminate. In a conflict there is typically two sides. When someone chooses a side, they tend to completely discriminate the other side. To support this, in the blast, paragraph four states, "Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups..." While this is one way, another way humans respond can be in a positive way. When it comes to your side of a conflict, people tend to get along and come together. This gives people a sense of community and can bring people with similar interests together. I know this because paragraph one of the blast says, "Groups of people who share similar interests and attitudes produce feelings of community." Finally, our response to conflict can make us feel more superior than others. As stated in the blast, this is known as "ethnocentrism." To conclude, we as humans react to conflict with discrimination, coming together, and feeling superior to others.

Our response to conflict shows who we are truly are as people. To expand, our response to a conflict shows whether someone is the type of person who goes straight to fighting or the type that tries to resolve the problem peacefully. For example, in World War 2 England and France tried to resolve the conflict of Hitler invading other countries peacefully by trying to negotiate a deal. Hitler lying and continuing to expand Germany and break other treaties shows that he is a horrible person. Paragraph 8 of the text says, " Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups...These studies suggest that we are quick to show preference toward a person who is one of us and to discriminate against a person from another group." Whether or not you think you view all other people equally, be it religiously, politically, or ethnically, conflict can band people together or break them apart and shows who you are as a person.

As said in the blast called "Conflict in Communities" it states in paragraph two, "However, along with joining a group , quarreling also seems to be a basic human trait." This statement to me is pretty much saying that even though joining a group will give you a "feeling of community" people also argue a lot.

Our response to conflict shows a lot about what certain things human beings believe in and how strong they are about it. For example in the text "Conflict in Communities" it stated, "People tend to favor their own 'in group,' and look with contempt on other 'out groups'." People discriminate things very fast and sometimes turn to violence to handle the disagreements they might have with other people about that topic. While others can be neutral with the situation and can handle it calmly. Also, in the text it stated, "People who share similar interests and attitudes produce feelings of community." Humans tend to get along with people who like similar things to them. All in all, people's reactions on conflicts depends on their backgrounds.

Our response to conflict shows a lot about our character, and who we are. For example, humans tend to resort to violence without thinking before they do something, while others are smart and make meaningful decisions, but just through violence. This shows that some people are thoughtless and don't act before they think, while others are thoughtful and know whether or not violence is necessary. And sometimes, fighting / war is just necessary. For instance, the World Wars and many others that have occurred in the past. They have all benefited us and our freedom and rights some type of way. To add on, according to the text, there is a lot of conflict in communities. Based off of the text, people tend to choose their own group over others. For example, "outgroups" and "ingroups".

Our response to conflict shows that us people have an opinion and argue against the ones that do not agree. In every conflict there is always two sides. When a group of people all believe the same thing it tends to bring them together and groups people with similar ideas or interest. In paragraph 4 it states ¨These studies suggest that we are quick to show preference toward a person who is one of us and to discriminate against a person from another group.¨ Obviously people will agree to others that agree with your opinion and the ones that disagree will argue and create conflict.

Our response to conflict shows a lot about our mentality, and who we are. For instance, when humans don't agree on something either one of them will get upset that one of them doesn't think they are right. We all have our own opinion, but humans have a quick reaction and discriminate against another. "These studies suggest that we are quick to show preference toward a person who is one of us and to discriminate against a person from another group". This tells me that we are rapid to judge an other's opinion, with humans discriminating about our choice or opinions this can cause us to break apart as a community.

Our response to conflict says a lot about who we are as humans, how we feel and act in situations and just who we are in general. Us as humans are separated into curtain groups for example race, religion, etc. From this separation we gain major conflict between one another. Discrimination is a huge issue between these groups, an example of discrimination is back in the early 1900's African Americans were treated unfairly because we were separated in a group. There were conflict between races heavily for A long period of time, while there still is in other areas of the world heavily, in curtain countries, but not as it used to be in America, or at least as much as it used to be. It states in paragraph 9 of the text "Conflict in Communities" "You will explore the parallel stories of a young woman and a young boy. The young women was placed in a death camp solely because she was Jewish, and the boy, like several million other German children, was swept into the ranks of a fanatical Nazi youth group." This shows an example of two groups in conflict and genocide was proceeded by one group against the other. It also states in paragraph 2 "Even worse, they often discriminate in favor of their own group, and expect that fellow group members will do the same for them. The belief that one’s own tribe, ethnic group, nation, or culture is superior to other groups is known as “ethnocentrism.” Some examples of ingroups and outgroups include:" this is why discrimination is at work between these groups. This says for us, that humans are two split from one another and leaves pain mentally and physically on both groups and this will continue unless we learn how to accept one another and come back together.

What does our response to conflict say about us? Our response to conflict says tells other people that either were we are discriminators or we don't care about what they do. also i have evidence from P8 "Scientists have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups (such as “Group X” and "Group Y”), or even when they are separated by a coin flip." also from the 8th paragraph "In one study, participants were shown two paintings and then divided into groups based on their preference for one artist or the other. When participants were later asked to give money to others in the study, they consistently gave more money to the people in their group.". lastly, people sometimes just like their ingroup.

Human beings can be discriminating. In paragraph eight it stated, " Scientist have found that many people discriminate when they are randomly assigned to completely meaningless groups (such as "Group X" and "Group Y.")
