Week 1 of poly life came at a terrifying speed. we immediately got started with our different modules. But we did get to know each of our classmates better through ice breaker like finding out similar personalities and getting to talk to them more. Like the picture above, I had the Influence personality, which leaded me to talking to Germaine! the rest of the week was just havoc as the only problem we faced was finding the right buildings and blocks and the eventually, being 2-5mins late. which leaded us to deal with our not so merciful lecturers whom would mark us late no later den 5 minutes ;).

this week we did not do anything much. We had a 2 day holiday, Selamat Hari Raya to all my muslim readers reading this. Anyways, we were occupied with butt loads of assignments to do in this platform called, Brightspace, or politemall. Too much actually, piling up everyday. How to go visiting like that? nevermind, the grind for a 4.0 is what matter. Am i wrong? or am i not so right? We went to site again, looking at maps and landscape layout. I was sweating like a dog. the weather was blazing hot. well, not half as hot as all the girls wearing half crop tops, and pants so high, you can see the planet Uranus. Don't get me wrong, I am All about freedom for expressive dressing. Just not freedom *from* dressing. note: (please dont take me too seriously ;0)

We made a trip to Oasis Terrace, where we were assigned a role, as a group, and were suppose to look around at structures, relating to our role(Civil and architecture engineer). we were not sure of our job role, hence, we needed to do research regarding our roles. we learned that as an civil/architecture engineer, our job was to look out for structure designs, purpose, and whether the particular structure needed improvement or not. We walked around looking at pipes, holes in walls, light shelves. We were then tasked to sketch 2 pictures of the few that we took during our site-seeing. at the end of the day, we managed to get a grip of how an architect would think. to be creative, sustainable, yet, beneficial, and to fully utilize whatever resources there is.

As seen in the picture, the pillars are spread apart for reducing the force acting on individual pillars. however, With a tall and thin pillar, comes with the risk of it toppling over from excessive weight, very strong winds, or when the pillar is really old and starts to corrode. thus, feeling up the gaps in between the pillars would establish a strong base for the pillars. Making it more durable.
