- Air quality can lead to acidic rain which has lots of toxic components such as nitric and sulfuric acids. Acidic rain contains harmful amounts of these toxins that can affect both people and nature.
- Air quality and pollution also leads to a condition in bodies of water called Eutrophication. Eutrophication is a condition in which bodies of water are polluted with too many nutrients. The nutrients result in the formation of algae in the water which leads to fish deaths and loss of plant and animal diversity. (Department of Environmental Protection, 2017)
- The pollution in the air also causes bad effects on the wild life. Humans and animals can both get significantly ill when they are exposed to extreme amounts of air toxins over time. The air toxins can actually contribute to birth defects, reproductive issues, and diseases in animals.
