So my choice is certainly less good than some people, but I was looking for a job that provides a permanent job ... yes, it's not very fun. Afterwards, I have always loved science subjects and my sister, being a midwife, saw the classes she had during her PACES which I liked.

Now that I am in medical school, I want to become a doctor so that I can help others. To feel the trust that patients can place in us is very important to me.

The English skills I need for this are to be able to hold a discussion with a patient who does not speak French, understand their problems and be able to help them. Also be able to understand scientific articles.

My level of English is poor but English is a really very important subject, which is why I also chose the English special to be able to improve myself more quickly. I have a lot of trouble understanding what I'm being told so understanding is not great ...
Perhaps one of my strengths would be written expression.

For this semester, I hope to be able to learn vocabulary words and facilitate my comprehension. 1. What did you learn from this video ? Give 1 or 2 examples.

This video taught me or rather reinforced in the idea to be wary of what you see in the press. Normally, the press is there for information purposes, but unfortunately this is a business that has to make money and therefore create a buzz and amplify or falsify information.
Examples: Coffee is both a cause of cancer but also a cancer prevention according to the daily mail, which shows that anything is good to publish an article without even having a reliable clinical trial.

2. What shocked or surprised you and why ?

I wasn't really shocked in this video because we know all this shenanigans but of course we can always be surprised by the absurdities that we can see and if you take it in the second degree it can make you laugh.

3. How will this knowledge influence how you deal with scientific papers in the future as a medical student and as a doctor ?

For all that is scientific articles, I would take the greatest care when reading an article, I would check my sources more than once and of course I will not go to articles intended for the general public which may be tempting and false.
