         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am currently in my second year studying a Bachelor of Media and Communications and I am majoring in social media. This course is my major for SP2 and to be honest Im not 100 % sure exactly what digital media is. <br><br>As a media student I have heard of the term and my understanding of it is loosely based on the foundation that it is a form of media based in the digital world whether it is online or a electronic format like editing for film or audio. Im really excited to learn more about the topic and how it is evolving. <br><br>Last year I did a assignment that was similar as we had to create a blog and make our own content by creating a website and developing audio and visual content. Im excited and a little bit nervous to expand my skills in creating content.<br><br>During the lecture a few ideas that I think have a pretty solid foundation came to mind. The only set back is that they involve other people so getting their permission and assistance may be a problem or it may be great and helpful in completing this assignment to the best of my abilities. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week in the tutorial I brainstormed over 80 different ideas as to what I could do for the assignment.<br><br>My first idea was to do a video for a makeup artist I model and do admin for. In class my tutor discussed how the ad is to be 30 seconds long or you can make two videos within 30 seconds. I first thought I would make a 30 second long ad about all the serivces she provides but thought it might be to much and a bit hectic to fit into one video. I then decided I could do two ads; 1 about the services she offers and another about her makeup artist training program. The call to action would be to book her for your next occasion or to attend a training of hers to develop your makeup skills. The target audience for the first video would be 18-35; young women who want to get their makeup don. The second video would target 24-50 year old women working in the beauty industry who want to learn or expand their skills in applying makeup.<br><br>My second idea came after listneing to a podcast about how young girls are missing out on school because they can;t afford sanitary items. The podcast spoke to the director of a chairty, share the dignity, who talked about this issue called period poverty. I was really intirgud to found out more as women's issues is a cause I am passionate about. The call to action would be donate to the vending machine's run by share the dignity so that young australian women don;'t have to miss out on an education.<br><br>I liked both of my ideas and could picture both of them working in my head. I decided to talk to my tutor to see what option they thought would be most affective or more suitable to assignment. They suggested the later option and I began researching the issue trying to find stastics about poverty in Australia as period poverty is a reletivley new term and didn't have any peer reviewed articles. i also want to find notes from any medical professionals about the impact period poverty has. The target audience i think will be 24-50 year old working women who are fincailly able to support the cause and have had a period for a number of years and emotionally understand the pain of a period. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I didn't get to do as much this week as I wanted due to a personal issue.<br>I listned to the period poverty podcast and took notes. I also found two period poverty ads. i think I will use these three videos/audio as inspiration.<br><br>The first period ad was by a sanitary item brand that focused on the affect period poverty is having on girls in the UK using a poem and a video shot at school.<br><br>The second video was about activists again in the UK with different calls to action about period poverty.<br><br>The main thing i noticed when watching or listening was the use of music, lighting and tone. The music was mostly somber, dark and gloomy when talking about period poverty as it is a sad and heart breaking topic. lighting was mainly bleak, showed girls in either the shadow or in really bleak and bright lighting which was almost looked painful. in the two videos, a blue tone lighting was used to emphasis sadness, isolation and depression. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This week I was challenged to think more creativley about the the topic.<br><br>I liked using the mindmap because Im a visual person so being able to devlop the idea visually was appealing to me.<br><br>Using the questions in the tutorial I challenged my ideas or knowledge of the topic. Who did it affect? What it is? What is the solution? Who would fund it? <br><br>Who it affects and the solution questions inspired me to think about the previous videos i had seen and decided the video would be about teenage girls at school who are experincing period poverty and the solution of donating to share the dignity to give these girls the products they need so they can attend school and have the right to their education.  I thought more about school and going to an all girls school; periods were always talked about. I thought about a show and tell idea about a girl showing and telling the different and dangerous products she has to use when she is on her period.<br><br>Another idea that I had was remembering from school how girls would have their sanitary items in the front pocket of their school bags. Going through the pockt with some girls having tampons/pads whilst a girl pulls out an altrnativ.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have discussed with a friend who is 15 and studies acting classes if she would be willing to particpate in the video; and she is happy too.<br><br>I would use a classroom at my old school which i have checked and have permission to use. Im still not sure which idea I will go with but will further explore the possibility this week.<br><br>Im set on having a blue/ white neutral theme to emphasise sadness and isolation throughout the video. Speaks of red and yellow may be used but I am not entirley sure yet; I want to explore further.<br><br>For typography; looking at the pdf in the tutorial notes I think I will lean towards either bold and symplistic with subtile femine features. Again this somthing I intend to explore further.</div>]]></description>

It gave me an insight into youth who live and poverty and that the largest group of Australians who are experincing poverty are working age (25-64). This group are often the primary caregivers of youth and young girls whose parents are unable to buy sanitary items because of their expense. One method discussed in the report about measuring poverty is measuring the amount of essential items that people miss out on due to lack of income such as santiary items. <br><br></div>]]></description>
