Qianyi Li ＆ Gaoming Chen

From the point of view of intergovernmental organisations, IGOs offer both healthy competition and the threat of fragmentation of globalisation.

First, many of the new regional institutions have been created or led by emerging economies, such as China's Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank or the New Development Bank of the BRICS group. They hope that more countries can participate in international affairs and enjoy equal treatment. But intergovernmental organizations need not mean a destructive split. They can develop strategies that ensure compatibility with the core principles of global institutions and encourage constructive development of global governance.

IGOs is the organization made up and funded by multi countries which is authoritative and powerful. They can directly influent the decision and choice of region by giving international pressure while NGOs cannot. NGOs is formed by massive volunteers which is free from government control and work for the welfare of societies as non-profit governmental bodies. Therefore, they could only improve the global context they focused by social media, materials and financial offering and conversation with states or IGOs. For example, Red Cross Society always focus on helping people suffering from disasters, diseases, and poverty which is always in the news. It provides massive goods and money for these people to improve their life condition. Also, it asks medias to report the situation and demand to the world to seek for more help from the people. Because the pressure of medias and people, states have to reply to the problems posed by Red Cross and finally solve questions furtherly. It is the way NGOs deal with the problems and the way they influence the sovereignty.

Yi Wang & Renjie Zhang
The power of IGOs comes from the state endowed, these rights belong to the scope of the sovereign rights of the state.

And the governance power of NGOs does not come from national sovereignty. For example, some transnational corporations, as the main form of for-profit NGOs, are both the participants of governance in globalization and the objects of governance.

In today's globalized world, global governance is in vogue. The direction of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and States is not entirely consistent. International organizations have strong behaviors in some areas, while NGOs have a considerable voice in other areas. This is both contradictory and reasonable, depending on the balance of power.

Unlike international organizations, NGOs often take a different position from their own government on many issue, in the process of globalization, some non-profit NGOs can not only provide valuable advice and opinions to the United Nations, influence its decision-making, but also enhance the representativeness and democracy of the United Nations. For example, some governments may make decisions for the overall interests of their own country at the expense of the interests of some groups, which will be opposed many non-governmental organizations. the recent decision by Japan to dump nuclear wastewater in the Pacific Ocean, is the decision by the government to ensure its own overall interests, and this move has been opposed by many NGOs around the world.

Jianing Cong & Zhengyi He

There was an explosion in the number of intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations (IGOs) as the number of new countries increased after World War II.Most interactions between countries are no longer bilateral, or one-to-one; On the contrary, many issues are dealt with on a multilateral basis. In addition, the State is no longer the main channel for international interaction, with individuals and groups often bypassing State institutions and cooperating with each other through non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations. In most cases, NGOs have never directly challenged the sovereignty of States, but because of their contributions on a variety of issues, they have gradually eroded the role of States in many areas. In some cases, too, it can be seen that NGos sometimes directly challenge the power of the State through the provision of certain services and their sheer size and capacity. Intergovernmental organizations are composed of sovereign states, and one of the rules is that member states have to respect each other's sovereignty, but when one member becomes too powerful, it can also affect the sovereignty of other member states, like NATO, one of its member states, the United States, has troops in all the other member states,The aim is to ensure that it can influence the domestic, diplomatic and military affairs of other member states.

Qinuo Meng & Jiaqi Shen
IGOs are an entity established by a treaty that involves two or more countries and works in good faith on issues of common concern.
NGOs are a non-profit organization that functions independently of any government.

The main purpose of intergovernmental organizations is to establish a mechanism that will enable the inhabitants of the world to work together more successfully in the field of peace and security and to address economic and social problems. Since the establishment of the United Nations and NATO, intergovernmental organizations have become indispensable players in the international community.

In both ways, NGOs contribute to global democracy. NGOs have greatly enhanced the flow of information in global governance.
They report information about domestic politics to the world outside a country and, in the opposite direction, bring global concerns and ideas to the national and local levels.

The IGOs and NGOs do have implications for national sovereignty. The controversial aspects of large development NGOs related to State sovereignty arise in the context of the provision of services by NGOs that have traditionally been seen as a role for the State. This is not controversial in some cases, such as in developing countries that have experienced major natural disasters, where immediate relief is urgently needed. In other cases, however, where non-governmental organizations are involved in longer term service delivery, their impact on national sovereignty is considered problematic. Perhaps the main reason for this is that they undermine the relationship between the State and its citizens and often the sovereignty of political institutions
