Problem: Reservoir inflows and in stream flows reached a low amount of water, and it was estimated that the water would run out in 120 days. This would pose a threat for wildfires as the lack of water meant that they would be unable to stop the wildfires.
Solution: The utilities district made internal adjustments as well as communicated regularly to the public using clear and constant messaging. They also coordinated with community partners and state agencies.
Challenges: The utilities district is still facing drought but they have been able to get a different source of water supply from a neighboring district as well as working with the public/government to advocate for more water.
