It is a large swamp that is home to the crocodile, Munch. It has very murky water with lots of overgrown plants and trees.

At the beginning of the story, we jump right into the action. Our main character, Wyatt, falls into the rive while white water river. Then we have a flashback to when the guide, Brody, is teaching them safety on the raft. Wyatt and his brother are joking about falling in the water. His brother whispers, “Wouldn’t it be awesome to fall in?” (Robie 2). Then they go rafting. While rafting, they see and save another raft that was stuck. After that, Wyatt falls in the water. Wyatt remembers the instructors safety tips and is able to swim to another raft safely.

I think the theme is to always pay attention to things that could effect your life. This is because the text says, “Dad had shushed them, making it clear that they should be listening to the guide” (Robie 2) Also, without remembering the safety tips, things probably could have gone worse for Wyatt. He also was able to keep his calm because he knew what to do, which then made that he wasn’t panicking which would have made things worse. This is why the theme of the story was you should always pay attention that could be important.

Rewrite the end

In this rewrite the actual story ends at this sentence, “He thought of his middle school basketball tournament — how he had kept calm and blocked out the crowd while shooting foul shots. Don’t panic he told himself” (Robie 2). After I got calm, I found a branch on the side and decided to grab onto it. The area I was in had a path leading up to what looked like a forest, the climb looked steep though so I decided I would go up there after an hour. I had gotten pretty far ahead of them so it might take a while for the team to find me. After what I thought was an hour, I decided to climb up, the climb was tough, and took me a good ten minutes. Since it was getting dark I went to get fire wood and hopefully start a fire. An hour later, it was pitch dark and I heard voices, I think coming from forest, “Is there anyone out there?” I asked. “Do you want to come live with us in the forest?” The voice responded, “You know what, sure! “ and ever since then I lived in the forest.

I think the theme of A Spy In The House is no matter what is set by stereotypes you can do what you want. This is because even though women were heavily discriminated, Mary still became a spy, and pretty much accomplished her mission. Also, Angelica said, “Now that my mother has disowned me and our marriage is not legal, I’m free to do whatever I really want”(Lee 278). In context, this works because Angelica is leaving her husband and family to become a proffesional piano player, even though that was rare for a women to do in the 1800’s. Angelica also disobeyed the stereotypes by marrying someone that was “the poorest person she knew” even though she was born of wealth. This why the theme of A Spy In The House is no matter what is set by stereotypes you can do what you really want.

I personally loved this book, I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Some points it got a bit confsuing for me to read, but then it made sense, kind of like a TV series in the beginning minutes. My favorite quote from the book is, “She hadn’t considered that God might be female” (Lee 4). I would personally recommend this book to people who like mystery, and women’s rights. The characters had a lot of depth to them and all of them had a goal, my personal favorite, besides Mary, was Angelica. In the end she stood up for herself and she also plays piano, like me. I think this book was amazing, with a very well written storyline, and I am super excited to read the other books in the series.

I think the theme of the story is you can’t achieve something great without being yourself. This is because, Lambert gets beaten in the battle, when he is faking being Prince Edward. Also, the very last line of the book Lambert thinks, “My name—Edward The Sixth—is on it. But it will buy nothing” (AVI 195). Finally, the player king from the street, who seemed great to Lamber, but it turned out that he was just a cabbage seller. This is why the theme of the story is you can’t achieve something great by being someone else.

I really enjoyed this book, I would rate it a 5 out of 5 stars. I really liked how it didn’t really have a classic happy ending, unlike most stories, which felt very new. Also, I loved how the main characters were kind of anti-hero because they weren’t doing culturally good things to do good. I think people who like books set in the medieval times would enjoy this book. My favorite quote from the story is, “When trying to understand it, I beg you to know that every now and then, in moments of aloneness, the thought does enter my head: Who am I?”(AVI 194). This is why I loved the book The Player King.

I saw my parents reading a letter, they had a look of awe on their face. “Is something wrong?” I asked. “No, no everything’s fine, Jimmy’s coming home!” mother said. “His troop accomplished their mission and are coming home in a week.” A week had passed and I was so excited! I couldn’t believe he was actually coming home! One day when I got home from school my mother said, “Go look in your room.” I rushed upstairs and burst open the door. “Stuart! I’m so happy your back!” Gordy’s dad ended up moving and they stayed here. Stuart and Barbara happily got married, and Stuart got off without any punishment. This is how I would end Stepping on the Cracks.

This is supported because the padaran looks mighty and like a god where really it was just him transforming himself so he was really very scrawny and weak. Also, “Can you see him? Can you truly see him? He’s not a shimmering god. He’s been tricking us all”(Beatty 330).

Occasional Magic is a collection of stories that were told at The Moth’s live shows. The stories are about the wide variety of how humans live their lives. “They showcase the great range of humanity—from a fifteen-year-old kid saving a life in Chicago to a Russian facing down the KGB—and cover all seven continents”(Wolitzer xv). One story is about a girl, Wang Ping, from China where her dreams were crushed when the Cultural Revolution happened. She discovered another girl who loved reading books and started a “book club” with her. She was found by her mother and was punished by her. Later, she told stories to people about culture and felt like she had found herself. That is what Occasional Magic is about.

The theme of Occasional Magic is everyone has a moment in their life that changes them. One reason there are no similar stories, some have similar ideas, but they are not the same. Also in the introduction of the book it says, “...those moments of beauty, wonder, and clarity, often stumbled upon, where we suddenly see a piece of the truth about our life”(Wolitzer xv). Finally, in the stories when the climax hits, all the storytellers said that their lives changes, whether it was meeting someone who changed their lives, or they learned something. This is why the theme of Occasional Magic is we all have a moment the decides our life.

I loved this book! I had never read anything like it! I would rate it 5 out 5 stars. I enjoyed how there was a mix between humor and seriousness in it. My favorite story is from a story called Spicy. It is about how a man loved spice girls and went to every Spice Girl concert in one of their last tours, even though he almost went broke. One of my favorite quotes is also from it, “Is this what my whole life is going to be like, just sitting there, never connecting with anyone, while the world rages on and laughs without me?”(Wolitzer 46). This is why I loved Occasional Magic.

Hinata is also very competive because in the book it says, “My team’s gonna win. And keep winning. We’re gonna win and win and play a ton of games”(Furudate 20).
3. Finally, Hinata is very irritable because when someone negatively comments about him he gets angry.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. This is because I love how the characters are so diverse, yet pulled to the same drive. My favorite part is when Suga and Hinata talk about how Hinata thinks that Kageyama is the best in his age group for volleyball. “Doesn’t that mean he’s your greatest teammate now?”(Furudate 120). I also really enjoy the art style the author has. Finally, I really like how relatable Hinata is because he isn’t instantly the best, yet he isn’t the worst. That is why I love the book Haikyu!

Haikyu! is about a boy named Hinata Shoyo who one time saw a game of volleyball and wanted to play. “I clearly remember standing there, watching...shivering in awe as the little black-clad athlete...scored point after point”(Furudate 1). In middle school he finally got enough players so he went to a tournament. The first game they played the team ran into the best team with Kageyama Tobio on it, and lost. In the first year of high school he goes to a past power house, Karasuno, and discovers that Kageyama actually is going to be on the volleyball team. Because they couldn’t get along the captain, Daichi, “kicked” them out. They made a deal with him that if Kageyama and Hinata won against the two other freshmans, Tsuukishima and Yamaguchi, Kageyama can be the setter. Will they win?

Kageyama is also cold because he constantly ignores people he doesn’t want to talk to.
3. Also, I enjoyed the quote, “Something incredible has begun here today. Even I can tell that...two separate individuals who by themselves aren’t particularly can, by coming together cause a chemical reaction”(Furudate 159). I also like how even though Hinata and Kageyama are really good you can tell that the author is trying to show they are not the best out there.

The theme of this story is that people’s physical “disadvantages” don’t have to stop them from playing sports. I know this because Hinata has to get passed his height, but still becomes a starter in the games. Also the book says, “If I don’t have the height to compete with the taller players...then I’ll have to jump...higher...so I can reach the top”(Furudate 21). Finally, author makes a point of the height of the players so it is a major plot point, also it is Hinata’s drive. That is why the theme of Haikyu! is people aren’t limited by their physical disadvantages for sports.
