2) consumerism and capitalism kinda sucks and ruins lives but it's the world we live in so we have no choice but to comply with it a lot of the time

What's perishing about America today is the original thought behind America, it use to be a great new country and now it is kind of falling to shambles.
2. America is now heavily populated and the natural beauty of the country is being taken away.
3. In the poem Jeffers says that he would want to keep his children from the corruption. 1. "While this America settles in mold of it's Vulgarity, Heavily thickening to empire" He writes as if this is a different America that stopped improving and refining itself while another America (presumably it' past self) didn't stop and has continued improving instead of settling where it currently was.

2."I sadly smiling, remember that that the flower fades to to make fruit, the fruit rot to make earth. out of the mother; and through the spring exultances, ripeness and decadence; and home the mother" I think he's talking about how everything eventually dies whether it be plants, animals, ideas, and nations.
