Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one day, a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not recognize him. He sat in front of the Prophet, rested his knees by his knees, and placed his hands on his thighs. The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet said, “Islam is to testify there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give charity, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform pilgrimage to the House if a way is possible.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised that he asked him and said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about faith.” The Prophet said, “Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in providence, its good and its harm.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully. Tell me about excellence.” The Prophet said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you.” The man said, “Tell me about the final hour.” The Prophet said, “The one asked does not know more than the one asking.” The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet said, “The slave-girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see barefoot, naked, and dependent shepherds compete in the construction of tall buildings.” Then, the man returned and I remained. The Prophet said to me, “O Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, he was Gabriel who came to teach you your religion.”

وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ

“... Righteousness (is the quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Books, the Prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask for help, and frees slaves...” 

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَيَشْتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا ۙ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١٧٤

• Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price – those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَـٰنًا ۚ إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّۢ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا وَقُل لَّهُمَا قَوْلًۭا كَرِيمًۭا ٢٣

“Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and do good to parents. If any one of them or both of them reach old age, do not say to them: uff (a word or expression of anger or contempt) and do not scold them, and address them with respectful words” [17:23].

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

كُنْ وَرِعًا تَكُنْ أَعْبَدَ النَّاسِ وَكُنْ قَنِعًا تَكُنْ أَشْكَرَ النَّاسِ وَأَحِبَّ لِلنَّاسِ مَا تُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِكَ تَكُنْ مُؤْمِنًا وَأَحْسِنْ جِوَارَ مَنْ جَاوَرَكَ تَكُنْ مُسْلِمًا وَأَقِلَّ الضَّحِكَ فَإِنَّ كَثْرَةَ الضَّحِكِ تُمِيتُ الْقَلْبَ

Be devout and you will be the most pious of people. Be content and you will be the most grateful of people. Love for people what you love for yourself and you will be a believer. Behave well with your neighbors and you will be a Muslim. Laugh less, for too much laughter will deaden the heart.

قال رسول الله ﷺ:

“وما اجتمع قومٌ في بيتٍ من بيوتِ اللهِ يتلون كتابَ اللهِ ويتدارسونه بينهم، إلا نزلت عليهم السكينةُ، وغشيتهم الرحمةُ، وحفَّتهم الملائكةُ، وذكرهم اللهُ فيمن عنده.”

(صحيح مسلم، حديث رقم 2699)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whenever a group of people gather in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it together, tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those with Him.”

(Sahih Muslim, 2699)

By practicing actively in usrah, we can cultivate a sense of responsibility, unity and collective progress, ensuring that islamic values are upheld in our daily lives

“ O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous (have taqwa).”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:2

The Prophet SAW said:

“ A man may offer a prayer, and nothing of it is recorded for him except one-tenth of it, or one-ninth of it, or one-eighth of it, or one-seventh of it, or one-sixth of it, or one-fifth of it, or one-fourth of it, or one-third of it, or half of it.”

(Abu Dawood, Sahih by Albani)

Khusyuk is the essence of a meaningful salah, leading to greater rewards, spiritual purification, and closeness to Allah. The Prophet SAW emphasized the importance of praying with full focus, sincerity, and humility, making it a key factor in the acceptance of our prayers.

The Prophet SAW said:

“ The first thing to be lifted from this Ummah will be khusyuk, until you will not see anyone who has khusyuk .”

(Tabarani, Al-Haythami in Majma’ Az-Zawaa’id)

• Maintaining khusyuk in all parts of prayer is sunnah for the completion and perfectness of the prayer.

• The virtues cultivated through Salah permeate every aspect of life, leading to spiritual growth and success.

Dalil about fasting :

‎يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

(O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.)

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2 : 183)

:إِذَا جَاءَ رَمَضَانُ فُتِحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ وَغُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَصُفِّدَتِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

(When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.)

(Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Dalil about zakah :

لَيْسَ الْبِرَّ أَنْ تُوَلُّوا وُجُوهَكُمْ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ الْبِرَّ مَنِ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالْكِتَابِ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ وَآتَى الْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ ذَوِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَابْنَ السَّبِيلِ وَالسَّائِلِينَ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَالْمُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِهِمْ إِذَا عَاهَدُوا وَالصَّابِرِينَ فِي الْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَحِينَ الْبَأْسِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ

(It is not righteousness that you turn your faces toward the East or the West, but righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets; and gives his wealth, despite his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; performs the prayer, and gives zakah; those who fulfill their promises when they make a promise, and those who are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. It is they who have been true, and it is they who are the righteous.) (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:177)

Allah says in Surah Ali-Imran (3:200):

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَبِرُوا وَصَابِرُوا وَرَابِطُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

(O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.)

This verse reminds me of the importance of patience, perseverance, and maintaining my commitment to Allah, which has been a central theme in usrah discussions. It encourages me to keep striving for improvement and success in both my spiritual and personal journey.
