indulgences/Payments that were pardons for sins, were being given to the church, and ended up making all the popes and priests extremely wealthy. Luther realized what corruption was happening and the church was being called out and ended up getting ended. These indulgence corruptions were being called out in Luther's "95 Theses".

King Henry VIII decided that since the act of supremacy is relevant, he could break away from the church, just to get divorced. King Henry was married to Catherine of Aragon and since she couldn't give birth to a male son, he went out on the catholic church, divorced Catherine, then started the Church of England.

Martin Luther was German monk who was sent to the Holy City of Rome to reform and fix the church and its conflicts. He ended up publishing a passage called '95 Theses' which basically called the church out on all of its' wrongs. In this passage, conflicts like Indulgences, The Church abusing its power, and that the bible has all authority.
