The absolute cordanits are 35.0078 N, 97.0929 W  <br>(Oklahoma is there location that they live in currently.)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw tribe was around the bottom of Oklahoma. If you look at a map it is to the South of the state capitol, which is Oklahoma city. The Chickasaw tribe was a break off of Choctaw nation. In 1855 they broke off of the Choctaw and created their own government in these locations Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky and Oklahoma. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chickasaw houses were 1 of three kinds. One is Mound grass house, the second is Waddle and daub house. Chikee Stilt house.  The first house is good for strong build if they have bad weather. The second house is good for a more open look and it is good for storing things because it has a wide body. The third one is very open and has a reed roof that is not very good if there is bad weather in that region. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw nation wore this sort of white cloths around their waist. The men had feathers and beads to decorate around the waist. The Women of the Chickasaw nation wore this leather or cloth dress with a little bit of frills They had a blanket/half robe kind of thing around there. The ladies would wear beads around there necks and sometimes the men would paint their faces. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw Nation has a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers.  Normally, the daily temperatures range from 37 degrees in January to 85 degrees in July.  Dry, sunny weather generally prevails throughout the Chickasaw Nation. Average rainfall is between 35 and 50 inches. Snowfall averages about 9 inches per year. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw people grew crops such as beans, wheat and corn. They got a lot of their food from that but the men would also hunt deer, ducks and other sources of meat. sometimes they would fish and go on long Hunting excursions throughout the Mississippi valley. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The biggest move that I found was called the trial of tears. This was when more than 3,000 Chickasaw people crossed the Mississippi river. The resulted in more than 500 of the Chickasaw people dying on the Journey. Crossing the Mississippi river was a huge journey and although many died this turned out t be good for the tribe itself.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw language was around for hundreds of years.  Chickasaw is a Muskogean   language family.  Language loss occurred over time. Government boarding schools discouraged Indians from practicing their cultures and speaking their languages.  Learning English was encouraged by some Chickasaw people because English was a necessary skill in negotiating with non-Indians.  Today there are about 75 people who speak the Chickasaw language and most of them are over the age of 55.</div>]]></description>

They lost their language over time because the government discouraged Indians from practicing their culture and speaking their language.  The traditions of the Chickasaw are silent in regard to the flood.  Their language was very similar to the Choctaws. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw has some enemies which included the Europeans and the Indian.  Sometimes the Chickasaw warred against the Choctaws, Creeks, the Cherokees, and the French.  They were considered the fiercest warriors in all of the Southeast.   They allied with the English during the French and Indian War.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw never really got a huge disease that spread throughout their nation.  When it came to the removal of the Chickasaw Nation, they were forced to leave the Indian Territory.  On there way of the removal lots of people died and families suffered heartbreak.  Most died because of the extreme cold and hot weather.   </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Chickasaw tribe is a break off tribe of the Choctaw people. They broke off from them and created there own government which created a feud against the two but, they still kept a general idea of their traditions. some of them are worship and festivals. These festivals would have food and celebrations. In these celebrations they would sing dance and hang out as a "family". Like the Choctaw people and most tribes they were very passionate about their religion and it was celebrated. </div>]]></description>
