Pearl Harbor was what prompted the United States to enter the war. The Allies may have not won the war without the United States intervention. Furthermore, if the United States had not joined World War II then the country would not have become the world power it is today.

The Bataan Death March was significant because thousands of American and Filipino soldiers were taken as prisoners of war. The march was brutal and they were subjected to extremely harsh conditions resulting in many looses.

August 6 & August 9, 1945

The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were significant because they ultimately led to Japan's surrender and the end of World War 2 II. Over 110,000 people were killed in the bombings and even more succumbed to the effects of the bombs afterwards. This showed how destructive nuclear weapons can be and contributed to the Cold War.
