Levittown was created in the 50’s and called itself the most perfectly planned community in America. The American Dream of owning a home and having a family was and still remains an iconic symbol in American culture that citizens hope to achieve. The cookie cutter homes that Levittown provided offered a chance for many citizens post World War II  to reach their dream of high standards, conformity, and materialism. The so called title “cookie cutter” is given to the types of homes because they are all made with the same floor plan and landscape. For example in Levittown, offers “a very narrow range house type” as explained in the Levittown article. Similarly, to the communities in Santa Clarita such as Stevenson Ranch. Pictured to the right are examples of the exact same model houses in Stevenson Ranch. According to the Levittown article, trees were also planted at a constant rate to maintain the aesthetic of the area. Similarly, trees are uniformly arranged all across Santa Clarita as shown in the picture to the right. These direct characteristics create a link between Levittown and modern day Santa Clarita. In an interview with Mr. Levitt, the founder of Levittown, he explains certain features of past homes such as basements and the new effective innovations that the homes of Levittown possess such as garages, gutters, and plaster. The elimination of basements are also apparent in the homes of Santa Clarita. In addition, the technological advancements remain substantial to the current homes in our community and are vital. Therefore, with account to these similarities, the city of Santa Clarita resembles a modern day Levittown in a substantial way. 
    Paved roadways are a vital part to the functionality of Santa Clarita, and most of them have a curving shape as seen in the photo to the left. As in Levittown, streets were curved for the purpose of “aesthetic effects” and to “slow down traffic”. This is not a coincidence, the curved roads in both cities were strategically planned so that the town could function to the best of its abilities. Most of the intentions for levittown was based on aesthetics and facades of the town. Curved roads in Santa Clarita likewise exhibit the town in a scenic way. Consequently, both SCV and Levittown share this common characteristic in order to maintain aesthetic order and satisfy the community.

Levittown was built during a time of racial discrimination and segregation. Many considered its legacy to be the “symbolic of segregation in America”. In contrast, Santa Clarita is very diverse in race and ethnicity which demonstrates the distinction. Most of the residents in Santa Clarita are in the middle class range and have nuclear families. Levittown also possessed these desires and were in search of convenience, affordability, and safety. These qualities have shown to be continuous in present day Santa Clarita because of its variety of house sizes and prices in addition to its low crime rate.
