Prior to this achievement, Wood was an obscure 39-year-old trying craftsman, living in the loft of a burial service home carriage house that he imparted to his mom and sister. In spite of the fact that he was drudging in lack of clarity, aesthetic preparing in Europe had shown Wood systems that prompted his enormous break. Following the achievement of American Gothic, he turned into somewhat of a media scoundrel, frequently reworking the history and significance of his work of art to best suit a given pattern or account. Also, his fans wound up noticeably avaricious, now and then heading out to his family's home, and strolling directly into Wood's quarters uninvited.
