         <title>korematsu v. united states:1942</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>after the attack on pearl harbor,korematsu refused to relocate to japanese internment camps. korematsu felt that the japanese intendments violated his rights. he felt his due process from the 5th amendment was violated. the supreme court ruled that 5th amendment right to due process is overweight by the united states being at war. this case negatively impacted the founding ideal, rights. even at a time of war, people should not have there rights violated</p>]]></description>

         <title>Ingraham v. Wright:1977</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>After Ingraham didn't move fast enough the teacher sent him down to the administration's office. When Ingraham refused to be patted down he got hit with a wooden paddle. Ingraham went to court because he thought that this broke his Eighth Amendment  of no cruel and unusual punishment. the court ruled in favor of the school saying the Eighth Amendment doesn't stop punishment in schools.</p>]]></description>

Gregg thought that the death penalty violated the Eighth and Fourteenth Amendments. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the state the reason being it was constitutional and was not cruel and unusual. This negatively affects the founding ideals because people shouldn't die for things that they did</p>]]></description>

Mapp went to court because she thought that the police were violating her 4th amendment right. The Supreme Court ruled 5-3 in Mapp's favor because the evidence was seized without a search warrant. this positively impacts the founding ideals because she got her right in the end</p>]]></description>

Tinker felt that this violated her 1st amendment because her speech was being taken away. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of tinker saying that they can protest as long as it does not disrupt the learning. this positively affects our founding ideals because this shows liberty </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Fraser was a student who made a speech that had numerous sexual references and got three days of suspension. Fraser felt that this violated his First Amendment so he went to court. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the school saying that the lewd and vulgar speech violated the school policy and the school did not violate his rights. this positively impacted the founding rights because kids shouldn't be able to give bad speeches.</p>]]></description>

So out of school, she started cursing at the school on Snapchat so she got suspended. B.L. felt like this violated her First Amendment so she went to court. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of B.L. because it was off campus. I think that this positively affects our founding ideals because schools shouldn't have a say in what we say outside of school.</p>]]></description>

The Supreme Court ruled with Gideon saying that people do have a right to a legal consular. this case positively affected equality because now people have the right to an legal conaler in court.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>people at Vernonia school were using drugs so the school made a policy that said they could drug test anybody whenever they wanted. Acton refused to take the drug test because he thought that it was breaking his Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments. The Supreme Court ruled with the school saying that random drug tests do not violate the Fourth Amendment. this positively affects our founding ideals because none of the rights were violated.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>TLO was smoking in the bathroom with another student and when a teacher found them she brought them to the principal's office when TLO refused to admit she was smoking the principal searched her bag and found drugs and marijuana. TLO felt like this violated her Fourth Amendment. the court said that she was guilty but school officials aren't allowed to search someone's bag without probable cause. this negatively affects the founding ideals because it violates one of her rights.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Miranda was a Mexican immigrant and was convicted of kidnapping and raping a woman so he got interrogated but the police forgot to tell him that he had the right to remain silent. Miranda felt like this violated his Fifth Amendment rights so he went to court. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Miranda saying that he had a right to his Fifth Amendment right. I think that this negatively affected the founding ideals because this does not show equality everybody should know their rights.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Hazelwood school district v. Kuhlmeier:1987</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Kuhlmeier was in the school newspaper club and when the principal saw the paper he thought it was inappropriate and asked for those parts to be removed but they didn't so they got suspended. Kuhlmeier thought this violated her First Amendment rights so she sued the school. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the school saying that the school doesn't go with the school's education. this positively affects the founding ideals because it is the school's right to let people have a newspaper club.</p>]]></description>
