This panel is an image of Maddison dancing on stage. The Image is taken from the audience perspective within the seats. Yet, there is an out of focus close of a pencil/pen within the image. This is just in a corner as someone holds it, but that person can’t be seen. The pen isn’t the main focus, but instead shall hint for the next panel.

 

The Second panel depicts Maddison dancing on stage within the same position and Jed and Lachie sitting within the audience, directing. Jed and Lachie are holding a pen/pencil and a stack of paper like a script or manuscript. The Image is taken from behind Jed and Lachie, as it shows rows of seats behind them. To hint to the next panel, the image shall be overlayed with a camera viewfinder, as if the shot is in the proses of being taken. (The viewfinder are the symbols within the camera lenses when you look through it).

 

The third and final panel is the most complex. The image shall incorporate Alex sitting at a desk with a laptop open. The image shall be taken over his shoulder and show an open laptop with an movie application open. The movie application shall either show the same image of Maddison dancing with Jed and Lachie directing and the viewfinder, or a shot that shows all four of us working, Maddison dancing, Jed and Lachie dancing and Alex filming. 

 

 

I had this idea at the end of the workshop and I thought it would be worth sharing on Padlet. Please chop and change what you think would be cool,  keen to develop it and get your input on it. I just thought it would be cool to show how different our disciplines are, yet we are all working towards the singular artistic piece. Keen to meet up again with y’all

1.       Format – top to bottom smallest to largest (zoom in to zoom out). It’s like you’re experiencing it in the moment. And its also like it’s revealing more as you track your eyes down, showing more layers involved in the creative process.

2.       Size of pictures – Relative to the size of me (Maddi) on stage, aiming to keep that to scale as best as possible

3.       Background – In order to meet the rules and requirements of the Triptych and to not over complicate the image too much, we decided to keep the backgrounds of the images separated.

What did it evoke? 

-          Love the layers throughout the disciplines 

-          The panning invokes different levels of involvement. 

-          Envokes a ‘realisation’ when everything comes into focus. Clever, thoughtful. 

We ask question: Is there anything we can add to create more meaning or significance?

-          Answer: no.

“What does the reveal represent?”

The crossing over of disciplines, the influences and effort of multiple disciplines that go into creating a piece and 

“The original piece is earthy and bright and you utilised dark colours, what was the intention of that?”

The original piece’s background represented the landscape of the indigenous people, and the mutual background across our disciplines is a black box/stage so therefore our background is a black box/stage. We also have an idea to take this one step further by making the whole background black and white but edit our bodies to have colour, as if we are the colour and the creativity in the space. We make the space what it is, the space doesn’t define what we must do.
